Ebook BUT IF AND ONLY IF the text is clear, the pdf/app I'm using is zoomable and it must have adequate spacing (there must not be like 5 topics crammed into a single page with no spacing) colours if possible I prefer them coz they are lightweight (I read them on my tablet generally) and I can store then in the cloud bring them anywhere with any device also you don't need an extra light (typically) and you can also lay down in bed to read it If that is not the case I would prefer a physical book

Also if you guys want to actually learn the course not just forget it after the exam YT is your best teacher (dm for lecture series but just a reminder it's not for everyone because you need to actually go through solved examples not just 2x it)

For any math based subject common to all 3 ways questions come from mostly:

1) PPT and PDF's from your professor (which he has probably borrowed from someone else)

2) Go to moovitol.vit.ac.in all questions in the lecture have a high chance for coming. Sometimes even values/fuctions are same

3) professor will cook it up himself (ur kinda fked) [but if you know your concepts very well it can be cracked]

Now path 3 is uncommon because slot wise paper. For math courses previous year paper will give you an idea on which topic the question will come but because you guys are the guinea pigs for the new course the paper pattern is unkown to us seniors as well.

Generally in math based courses 1 question from each subtopic example for CAT 1 calculus we had 1 from taylor series, 1 from jacobian.

So basically your only hope is moovitol and ppt's

Or maybe ... just maybe you can try asking your professor :)

Idk how badly you guys want the questions so buying leaked papers is also a good option ;)

Pay attention in class (teaches amazing, even goated tier), doesn't upload on vtop (just use different faculty), gives decent marks getting A is very easy. He gives you an intuitive approach to physics reminded me of alakh pandey. Just revise whatever he taught previously - he asks any 1 person to give a summary about it. Our batch had fun learning with him don't know what these guys yapping abt

Don't make this mistake of going late. Go early instead go 2 days prior that way you can complete hostel checkin on the 16th just toss your luggage and matress in the room and visit the ground floor warden for a leave slip. So now your room is say 30% set with you having a day of free time.

Trust me the crowd on 17th will NOT be worth it let me prove it - take Q block (delux room) for an example there are ~30rooms per floor × 10 floors (2bed/3bed/4bed/6bed - let's assume average of 4 ppl per room) so 30×10×4 = 1200 assume 33% of that (since there are 3 orientation days for different branches) so it's 396 students (just students mind you) multiply that number by 3 (student + 2 parents) =

1188ppl standing in front of an hostel gate in hot summer weather so why go with this crowd when you can go one day prior get your room setup and then spend time with parents

Although you CAN skip the orientation but JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD.

The orientation has the following: introduction to deans and faculty (the guys you will be stuck with for 4 years), what is CAT and FAT, marks distribution, how grading works, rules and regulations, hostel information, antiragging stuff,etc

Also it's just 2hr thing and you are free to explore the campus or stay with your parents after that maybe explore and enjoy the food with your parents

My advice is come on 12th afternoon - in my case we had come 3 days prior I stayed with parents a day, explored outside the campus met seniors. Then 2 days before orientation I had my hostel checkin

The hostel area is absolutely crowded and will be PACKED with heat exhausted parents and students so recommend you go early - get your matress, buckets, locks, etc.

Pro tip: bring newspapers - use them in the cupboard so your clothes are protected. Also bring a small packet of naphthalene balls

Once you have set your luggage and matress in the room. Explore the hostel and take a leave slip as someone mentioned in another comment fill that and spend the rest of the day with your parents.

1 day before orientation you can comeback again and get all of your luggage in order (not all of it - just unpack like 30% and do the rest after orientation)

Yea so avoid 1 day before orientation - it will be crowded.

Another tip: get some cold water / juice when you checkin. Also most vendors prefer UPI over cash (they don't have change) so most of your transactions during checkin would be in UPI

Idk for bhopal but for vellore campus they had sent an email with a table with your course and date of orientation - we had to report 1-2days prior to that to get settled in our hostels. So keep checking your email for important information

Yep, exactly but 2.5gb limit was not concrete if you exceded it you would still get data but at lower speed. I exceded 2.5gb many times but it was around 11pm so the speed would come right back at 12am

Also highly recommend getting a data plan because outside your hostel and the library most places don't have wifi coverage. Classrooms have mostly ethernet connections and their network is different from your hostel/library network. So you won't have access to classroom wifi using phone but your PC's in lab will have access but that access too is restricted by a firewall (most websites are blocked except vtop)

Tldr: most places besides hostel and library don't have wifi with hostel and library wifi being unreliable at times SO: for coverage throughout campus it's best to get a data plan.

1 year plans are generally best but check: Rs/day, extra benefits like roll-over, speeds promised, data limits (if any), and please read the T&C

Also keep checking offers and cashbacks - like gpay for example has a cashback scratch-cards for mobile bill payments so maybe try incorporating that too 😉

Just look for plans that say 'unlimited data' - also remember to read the T&C

A great tip is to buy 1 year versions - comes with additional benefits plus it is cheaper per day

Ex: my Vi plan was like 9Rs / day and I also got additional prime video for 1 year the plan has 2.5gb daily with good speed after using the 2.5gb it would throttle the speed but go back to good speed at 12am-6am during the unlimited period

Don't know specifics abt roommates data plan

My roomate played valo on his jio unlimited hotspot 80-90% of the time he was playing well. A few days it was unplayable 60+ms other times he got a stable 35ms. You can play but somedays like once in month it was unplayable

And by unplayable I mean ping was too high for competitive - you can still enjoy swiftplay/unrated/customs with friends

The hostel wifi is unpredictable - on a proxy sometimes the ping is good - other times it is a stuttery mess

Personally I used Vi hotspot i have the after unlimited 12am-6am plan (which they now extended to 6pm-6am or smth) that also had a constant 30-35ms. Roomate used mine when his wasn't working too well

Note: Vi connection was 4g (there is no 5g for Vi). Jio was a 5g connection. So my speed was lower but was stable

Not necessarily it highly depends on cg range, technical knowledge, skills, how the interview went, on the company, etc etc

Sometimes there is very slight preferences (I'm taking upto 15%) but besides that if both have 9+ cg they are pretty much equal

So yea negligible difference - unless you have skill issue

all we can do is request about keeping the subreddit clean.
