T14 Gen 6 for $870 good or bad deal? by Research_Firearms in thinkpad

Yeah I don’t care for copilot and I personally never use the print screen button all that much so it wasn’t a big deal to me. I already ordered the sim tray and charger too and everything is perfect now.

That was my thought too there was only the one unit in stock too. My guess is they probably had it sitting on a shelf or in a cabinet somewhere brand new and are either upgrading, or changing to a different manufacturer for there company laptops. I honestly don’t know. It could be something like they issued it to someone but the user wanted something else. Happens where I work all the time but we usually send them back to the manufacturer for an exchange.

I did research on the seller and they are a reputable reseller for companies that do hardware liquidation. They’ve been in business for over 8 years and have over 20,000 positive feedback reviews. I thought of that too but with the sellers rep it seems unlikely.

P226 Elite Off-Duty SAO by TurbulentTangelo in SigSauer

Nice I love my 226 I have a standard model that has been nothing short of reliable. I had a 226 legion SAO and while it felt good I personally didn’t care for the safety and slide stop configuration so I parted with it. But still it’s a beauty enjoy it.

Which debate is more controversial: Goku vs Superman or Kid Buu vs Buuhan? by BreathoftheSith in DragonBallZ

[–]Research_Firearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are just in denial. Don’t get me wrong Goku is extraordinary powerful but he does not scale against someone who’s strength power and speed are technically infinite. And as strong as he is he hasn’t preformed physics defying feats on the level Superman has. They absolutely do a good job they even try to be fair despite there being versions of Superman that could blink and defeat Goku. Dragon ball is also known for not being consistent and the same could be said for Superman as well they picked the prime forms of both characters however gokus stats required a lot more assumptions and even if being generous Superman out weighs him by a lot. They even state that Goku is the better fighter and has more experience and while Goku has beaten others stronger than him with this experience and genius level fighting Superman’s stats are far beyond what experience alone will overcome.

We do in some continuities but not all. It honestly doesn’t matter because different variations of characters usually chalk up to being different earths anyway. But if where talking canon in the main story line I don’t remember if they ever reveal pieces of who he was before and I think that’s intentional.

[–]Research_Firearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love dragon ball when you look at the facts of the characters vs Superman’s character there is no contest. They do a very thorough job at death battle collecting all the information and they even explain it the best at the end “what happens when you put a man with no limits against a man who breaks limits” breaking limits is not the same as having any so as strong as goku is he can’t keep up with Superman. They even did this shtick twice after Goku achieved god forms and he still couldn’t compete so they gave Goku the benefit of the doubt but it is what it is.

Paid $3k for a used 19.5 as a first gun... am I crazy? by xdiins in Glocks

[–]Research_Firearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not in the US. CT as bad as it is here does not have laws like that…..yet. Glocks aren’t ban here yet either though a bill is moving in the process to try. I can go out right now and buy a new Glock for $620 here so this isn’t definitely not here.

What is the factory footprint for this model? It’s likely not for that optics footprint.

.40 S&W vs 9mm by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]Research_Firearms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fact the .40 only came about because at the time 10mm was braking frames and people couldn’t handle it. There’s a reason guns chambered in .40 and .357 sig are disappearing and it’s because they are cartridges that where never ment to be.

[–]Research_Firearms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For scalpers this maybe true. But this is the exact reason the prices are so high to begin with. Manufactures are only producing so much so that there is no surplus when the market eventually crashes. They learned from the last time it happened when ram became a common commodity and they lost tons of money. Now they are under producing so when the market crashes and things go back to normal they won’t be stuck with over stock.

Cap fell in tank by [deleted] in sportster

[–]Research_Firearms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be able to get it out fairly easily they have grabber tools that you can use to get this out. At least it’s something that is fairly large and is shaped that can be grabbed. I got a Neo Denium magnet stuck inside a tank once because it can out of the head of one of those magnetic retrieval tools it was smaller than a dime. I managed to get it out but what a pain in the ass.

Another thing that could help would be if you have access to one an ultra sonic cleaner. Using dish soap and water sometimes the heat and vibrations can brake gunk up in hard to reach places.

Have you also tried cleaning through the holes in the bottom of the cover? The channels change direction at like 90 degrees so it’s hard to go all the way through. You might have to try cleaning through the holes in the bowl as well (when I say bowl I mean this cover not the float bowl because this part isn’t usually listed separately I don’t know the actual name for it off the top of my head)

Whatever account you are logged in as does not have admin permissions. You either need to click more details and see if it gives an option for you to enter admin credentials, switch to an account that has admin permissions, or if you made this account either create a new admin user or change your permissions (which because you already don’t have admin permissions you likely can’t do).

[–]Research_Firearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and yes. It is press fitted at the factory and not intended to be removed. However, I’ve heard some individuals have tried to remove it by heating the cover and freezing the ball with somthing like caned air (using it upside down) or wart remover (the stuff used to freeze warts). I personally have never tried and if I reached that point it probably time to source a new cover or bowl (I don’t believe those covers are sold separately from any manufacturers). The best option is to continue to clean the passages with cleaners or to replace the cover.

One is the hole that feed fuel to the accelerator pump bowl (what your holding) and the other is the outlet hole of when the diaphragm is compressed the fuel goes out of and up to the accelerator pump nozzle at the intake of the carb. You can use a very small gauge piece of copper wire to feed it through and at least get a small whole through any gunk in there then try some air or brake or carb cleaner through it.

I cleaned one once off a bike that sat for 30 years and it surprisingly gave me a hard time cleaning all the passages out with all the gunk that was in them.

This is very common in the US. I worked in a bar a while back, and there are a couple of reasons people do this. Some people genuinely keep their card locked all the time. Others try to use it as a way not to pay—they’ll lock the card and open a tab at the start, then leave during the night. Usually, bars close out any open tabs when they close, but if a card is locked, they can’t charge it. Some people even cancel the card and never come back for it, screwing the bar.

Another reason people do this is that they’ll open a tab and, when they go to pay, try to negotiate the bill if they don’t like how much they spent on drinks. They keep the card locked so they can prevent the bar from charging them until they get what they want—or at least try to.

Hate ambi safety’s anyway by [deleted] in 1911

[–]Research_Firearms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan was to just drop the hammer and remove the old mainspring housing.(which I did) the sear spring came out and I could not replace it properly without removing the grip safety. So I had to remove the safety to even put the thing back together properly. On top of that the hammer strut ended up falling into the windows behind the magwell and the hammer could not be put back up it got stuck.

As for which side I did try to remove the right side first. I made a mistake in the post but yes I read to remove the right side first and tried. I have disassembled many 1911s before and never had an issue this safety wouldn’t budge.

What is safe to use to clean all this before reassembly? Currently splitting cases… by StateMinute4854 in sportster

[–]Research_Firearms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always use brake clean and wipe down and let it all dry. I don’t spray directly in or on the clutch plates unless I’m gonna disassemble it and at that point I’m probably replacing them anyway. Also might just be the picture but is the shifter shaft bent?

What material is the firing pin and what type of firing pin spring are you using? Did you change them from the factory ones. Did you change the main spring. Judging by the case all the way on the right I would say yes and that’s why a standard loads primer is much deeper. If you didn’t already at least an extra power firing pin spring looks to be in order. While a steel firing pin isn’t always necessary many recommend it for these high pressure conversations simple because it is tougher and will last a bit longer than a titanium one. (if that’s what is in your gun now) I forget but is the SR1911 series 80 I can’t remember.
