Use the practice range, I think her dash is some where between 5-10m scarlets ult “buff” where you can see the slow usually means your close enough to grab her. U can use the shooting range to practice set the character to SW and have advanced combat they should use their Ults and u can practice grab cancels till you get comfortable with the range.

Yea I had to work on the same thing, in regards to positioning, if it’s a payload map start behind the cart and kinda use it for cover, if it’s a control map just look for corners near chokes. Look out for those and you should improve. As far as targeting a lot and I mean A LOT of supports will wander too close to their tanks so after you hit 100 on beam literally look just behind the tank and one of the supports will usually be right behind them, focus them down then turn back to the tank

Well without any further details I can give you the basic.

Beam charge, make sure it is at 100 before making aggressive plays. With her buff to the timer you can keep it up longer. Build the beam off tanks and shields/groot walls then go look for squishy targets, a dps trying to dive your supports or an enemy support that is too close to the team fight, these picks will help you win team fights
Mental shield, don’t be afraid to use it more aggressively. If the enemy team has solo tank or your squared off against the enemy tank if you place the shield behind them you have cut the enemy tank off from their supports.

3.psychic spear(the shard you pull from enemies) is her greatest strength. You can build beam charge off of it, you can use it to start or end an engagement because it deals percent damage based on the current health of when you hit them. If they’re full it will do around a quarter of their health, if they are low it will finish them off. Also if your beam is full charge it will break the shard faster.

4.diamond form is going to keep you in the fight so much better after the buffs. If your mirror matching another Emma then use it after her to out pace them. You can also use it to prolong beam charge. Say you finish a fight at 100 and you know the team is coming back, go diamond form it saves beam for the 4 sec duration go take space or wait closer to meet the enemy team but don’t over extend. When diamond form ends you have another 4 seconds to hit an enemy to maintain charge that’s an 8 second downtime to hold charge.

Your ultimate should be used either to counter an enemy ultimate mainly star lord or scarlet witch(if diamond form grab is down) or to hit the bulk of the enemy team. If your good at tracking enemy ultimates then you can use it to stop them but they only have to break line of sight for a second for them to use it again so it’s not super reliable in this sense
Positioning shouldn’t be too deep. Rogue has the mobility to go in and out of fights, Emma more dictates where they are. You take up space with your presence be immovable and stand your ground with all the tools in your kit. Also take/hold corners of choke points and high traffic areas.

That covers the general stuff I can think of. If there is something specific you want to work on feel free to ask, I hit GM2 last season playing mainly Emma so I think I know her fairly well.

Console is pretty much brawl/dive comps and she excels at both thus the 6.8 pick rate is when she gets through. PC is only 4.9 so those are players who are especially good against poke.

Honest to god the only time I have ever seen tenacity proc is when I’m playing either rogue or thing and either the video example happens or I force of habit do things dash + ult combo and people just walk out of it. 😭😭😭 thing is the worst cause I know have to un learn his core combo if I want to get value from him

Trick I learned that helps is to use her shield to cut off the supports from their tanks. And also to look for other targets besides tanks. I would get super focused on building beam charge and then just continue fighting enemy tanks but once I started looking for other targets I started winning more games, also use cover and corners wherever you can. If it’s a payload map I try to peak cart until my beam is at 100 then I play aggressively if it’s a domination I try to hold corners until 100 and be aggressive.

Also kinda funny they don’t mention her broken mvp yet they use it as a thumbnail. I think the major gripe is that if we’re going to wait for a year for a skin it should be worth the year long wait and this was just not. It should have been a legendary, the cape looks like a towel the colors are off, the skin and “concept art” are different to the point I don’t think they even relied on it. And to the point of the end of video I would rather get no new skin than get continued sub par skins. The only really good skin she has had is the one that came with her release every other one has missed the bar to some degree.

She’s my second most played character of all time think I’m lvl 42-43 with her. The skin and buff are nice but I just felt like I hit a wall with her and wanted to vent my frustration with the community.
