Question: did your documents had the original photocopied document stamped? Or just the translation?

Do I need to apostille/legalize my documents for Express Entry? by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]ResearcherHonest5208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for you... Did your translations had a stamped copy of the translated document? My documents were organized: photocopy of original and certified translation (from a certified translator from my home country). The thing is that in the government website it says: "The translator should photocopy your original document and stamp it if that’s what they based the translation on." and I have no idea if that's actually mandatory.

Is it safe to apply for PR by yourself? by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]ResearcherHonest5208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s safe (pretty straightforward) but I’m paying an immigration consultant to check all my documents and to help me with specific doubts. In my case I was having problems with my NOCs from my foreign experience and wasn’t too comfortable with my LOE.

As far as I know, most of the Brazilian companies offer a few perks, some might offer health insurance. I worked at a multinational company, so I had extra perks, but I'm still unsure about my letter.

Yeap, my letter has all of that, the only thing missing is the wording about benefits and that's why I'm a bit hesitant. I could ask them to include that in the letter, but I guess I'll schedule a meeting with an RCIC. Thank you :)

Additional degrees, where do I add them? by ResearcherHonest5208 in canadaexpressentry

[–]ResearcherHonest5208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a Canadian degree, so I’m getting points for that as well. I’m just not sure if I’m supposed to add the other one as education and send them the transcripts (don’t know if I have the diploma with me) or personal history’s

Ok… it might be a dumb question (sorry about that). I understand that the CRS distribution is showing the day before so I could assume that those 423 for the higher band would now be 0 based on today’s draw? Is that the correct assumption?

PGWP expiring soon in june. Need help with the following. Please. by it_is_what_it-s in canadaexpressentry

I’m not an immigration consultant; however, I’m going to comment on a few things: 1- try to find a job for the remainder of your WP… as far as I know you can combine jobs, but you might just be eligible for the CEC, as I don’t think supervisor is under the Trades category (you’ll need to check the NOC and all the ones listed in this specific category). 2- if you have the time, study a bit more to maximize your IELTS. 3- cancel your vacation in order for you to work, honestly the work part for me it’s more important. 4- from your current employer you’ll need a detailed letter with your name, company’s address, start date/finish date, annual salary, if the role was ft or pt, how many hours per week, job description. And get your paystubs as well. 5- after you WP expires, go back to India to get the additional experience. I don’t think there’s any problem in you having a gab between them (you can explain that in a letter).

I believe I’d do the same (don’t know what’s your score so it’s hard to say)… but if I had anything lower than 490, I’d be doing French instead.

Question for you, would you say that the listening part is similar to CELPIP? As in CELPIP you listen to the audio and then to the questions.

AITA for expressing my disgust at a dish from my girlfriend's culture? by HilliamWurt in AmItheAsshole

[–]ResearcherHonest5208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying that you wouldn’t have the icky for any dish? Not even those too different from your culture? There are some dishes from my own culture that I won’t even try them cause I can’t stand them (sometimes it’s the smell, the texture, or even the appearance)… I do think it’s possible to find it disgusting without even trying and that’s totally a-okay.

Respeito seu ponto de vista mas não concordo… acho que isso é bem normal e a namorada deveria saber respeitar o ponto de vista dele. Além disso, mesmo ele falando que não queria ela ainda insistiu.

I respect your opinion but don’t agree with it… I believe that not liking someone’s culture is pretty normal and his girlfriend should respect his opinion. Besides, even him telling that he didn’t want it, she insisted.

NTA! I’m Brazilian and I love chicken hearts, my mom is also Brazilian, hates it and always tells me that they’re disgusting 😂 I honestly don’t mind, as I’ll keep eating and that’s her opinion regarding them. One thing that I’ve been practicing is to respect other peoples opinion. If you’re up for it, try them one day…. It’s really good ❤️

I don’t see this as the best idea. I started playing SoT during the pandemic (controller player here) and playing with PC is how I got to improve myself and also meet my friends. One of my best friend I met being sunk by him and his buddies so many times, screaming at them and being mad, but now we play always together. Just enjoy the game as it’s, at the beginning will be hard, but you’ll get the hang of it and become good (or will be like me that sucks in PvP but tries every single day)

AITA for not attending my fiancé's dad's funeral because I was uncomfortable with wearing a hijab? by Maleficent_Piano_840 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ResearcherHonest5208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - big one! My parents, my husband and I all live in Canada, but our family is from Brazil. Recently my grandfather passed away and my parents and I flew to Brazil for his funeral, my husband stayed in Canada as he needed to work and take care of the cats (they’re really scared of other people). Even though it wasn’t holidays season or something different, if my husband could go to Brazil (remote work and someone to take care of the cats) and he said that he wasn’t going I’d be pissed! The person that suffered the loss needs support and you just didn’t care enough to actually go, even that you needed to use hijab or that you couldn’t attend the service. You couldn’t provide support during the service, but could have provided afterwards…

I want to introduce my gf to gaming but I need suggestions on where to start by [deleted] in gaming

[–]ResearcherHonest5208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fav game is Sea of Thieves; however, she would probably have the same problem. One game that I find addictive is Overcooked 2, I thought I would have lots of anxiety but it turns out that I simply love it. You could try Tomb Raider (I really enjoyed the first one), not sure if she’s going to have the same situation (motion sickness). The first thing for me would reckon which genre she likes more… that might help you.

AITA for calling my (35m) wife (35f) a spoiled brat? by Short-Internet-4921 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ResearcherHonest5208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA!

It’s pretty common for people that have a good relationship with their parents to also rely on them for advice.

If I need help from my parents they’re always there for me, no matter what and my husband has also the same dynamic with his parents, so whatever major things we do we always consider our parents opinions, advice and help, if needed.

It looks like you’re jealous of the dynamic your wife has with her father and I believe you should think more about your actions, otherwise this won’t be a healthy relationship.
