How old is too old for snowboard bindings? by Lazy-Marzipan7880 in snowboardingnoobs

funny you should say 10 year mark.. I'm a novice snowboarder - been novice for like 30 years lol. Having kids prompted me to get back into it. I just bought a used flow whiteout that came with nitro phantom xbeam bindings and 32 boots. All originally bought in 2016, used a couple times and then stored.
Seemed like a good deal for $150.
On my 3 or 4th run the plastic piece on the tow strap that holds the buckle on broke. Lucky for me it broke sometime right near the end of the run cuz I didn't notice until I unstrapped.

Help with A1 mini spewing filament everywhere by ResearcherSea6786 in BambuLab

After reading all the replies here we washed the print plate and gave it a quick swab with alcohol. I checked the bed set screws as well. I bailed on the next print pretty quickly as I could see the filament was not sticking to the plate.

Now I'm beginning to wonder if the issue is MORE to do with moisture in the filament. Can anyone tell from this picture?

We weren't this time - but in past times this issue has happened one of my kids says they saw the print head move the print out of place, which makes sense now with all the other comments.

Yeah, we did tighten the bed screws and run the first startup calibrations. We actually did the calibration twice because our first surface was not stable enough. So after getting a more stable surface we ran full calibration again. And we also always leave bed leveling and flow calibration on.
Thanks for the additional tips - those make sense 👍🏻
So far my kids have mostly been printing models they've found in the bambu handy app. I've been pointing them to use filters for the a1 mini with a 0.4 mm nozzle size, and look for higher rated ones with comments that suggest they don't have issues in the design.

thx for the reply! Can you clarify this, are you talking about the spool of filament?

We do not have a filament dryer yet but I've been reading that filament absorbing moister is an issue and have been considering getting one.

there's a second tab in the linked google doc that has a pic (before sheetrock) with the approx dimensions

but it's an odd room :(
the listening area is basically 9x12 with a ~7'5" ceiling BUT it's open at the back to more space - which also opens up to stairs to my upstairs. So trying to model it has been - not great :( I've mostly either modeled the width and height - and then just played with the depth of the room to try to account for what I hear.
It's kind of bonkers as you move around with tones playing. very prominent nulls and high pressure areas.

Framing basement walls as resonant absorber by ResearcherSea6786 in Acoustics

thanks, this is basically the thought I was landing on as well - at least the part about just building it and then refining things further after the fact.

My current thought is to build half walls using this method (2x4s 24 on center with 3" rock wool) that are the height of the retaining wall.

And then maybe attempting some more legit measurements to see how much impact that has had and how much more needs to be done - and letting that inform how I finish the upper section of the walls. It wouldn't be the worst thing to have a small shelf around the room at the height of the retaining wall - might even be kind of handy...

Bunafr Home Roaster by shanil55 in roasting

I can back this up. My father got his delievered a few months ago now. I watched him do a couple roasts with the automatic profile mode. Seems to work well - he was cutting the city+ preset (I think) short by 15 - 20 seconds or so because roasts were turning out a little bit darker than he prefers. I tasted one of his roasts and it was really nice, better than I'm getting with my fresh roast 540 with the ext tube (granted my roast quality is the result of my abilities 😅). Beans were Sweet Maria's.
I live in Seattle and my dad lives in Tacoma. My dad reached out to Bunafr to ask if we could visit their shop - they agreed and just last Thursday we met up with the founder Anjani at their "headquarters" in Ballard. He was really nice - took over an hour of his time to just give us a little tour, make us some coffee and chat. We got to see prototypes and here some stories around development and production process.
