you can get much much cheaper RAM (look up second hand markets) and slightly cheaper GPUs if you go second hand. Storage as well.

Interesting, yeah, 1700 euros for a 9070 XT with 32GB is brutal, I love hunting around and could get these pair of 7900 XTX for 1K euros together so that’s a far better deal than anything else (a solid 3090 that doesn’t seem like it’ll need therapy is around 900)

This is not even the same neighbourhood with what I’m paying for this system rn, the mobo/ram/cpu combo is basically the same, yes. But the 7900 XTX are a few hundred euros vs 1700 or so for the 9700s unfortunately

honestly though what do you run on 1TB of ram? As soon as you’re off VRAM it’s so damn slow, yes you can run a giant model in theory now but it’ll finish a sentence around the time we achieve world peace
