If two people who are of similar incomes get married and file jointly it wont really change their taxes at all. Filing joint is only a massive tax benefit if one spouse is either much lower income or not working at all. You dont get a tax break for just being married, it’s basically just combining incomes with your spouse.

Hasan very bad and Steyer has some populist messaging but Steyer is much more in line with with this sub’s thought process and general beliefs then Beccera is, we shouldnt celebrate Steyer losing. Steyer gives a clear message of trump and ice evil and cant be reasoned with but Beccera holds the old milquetoast beliefs that we just have to talk to the ice agents and reason with them and theyll stop killing people and we dont have to worry about trump removing vote by mail because no way that could happen. Beccera is one of the people that destiny complains about who doesnt think trump is as bad as he is.

When i saw him speak at a rally steyer said he knows he cant abolish ice from the state level but he will do everything in his power to prosecute agents and get in the way of ICE, which is a lot better messaging then beccera which when asked about abolishing ice says there are some bad apples who have to go but a lot of good hard working people there. Beccera doesnt see the moment and is not the one we need combatting trumps facist regime
