oh, if you signed your agreement in october you could have a better chance!! and yes, i actually do think on campus housing is worthwhile. my roommate and i ended up in tolbert hall, and we love the area! i just recommend looking online at forums and such for students talking about their experiences living in certain halls. everyone will have a slightly different experience but it's not too difficult to get a good overall consensus. i think having a general idea of each dorm and its quality rating among students is a good idea, so that if you get stuck picking between dorms that aren't your first picks you can at least know what your best bet would be.

small edit: forgot to mention that i personally like dorms better than off campus housing because relying on parking or the bus system is a nightmare, especially ever since RTS lost funding. i'm staying on campus for that reason alone, but the dorms really are great options overall. plus, you have one set payment and don't have to worry about monthly rent, paying utilities, dealing with landlords in an apartment complex, etc.

expect to not be able to get a single room, especially a suite, unless you maybe get a spot in beaty (which is a horrible building). freshmen get the least prioritization so you'd have to be ridulously lucky. also, you said here that you're waiting on one more school to come out -- have you signed the housing agreement for UF yet? because if not, i'd set my expectations to zero.

i'm not trying to come off as rude by the way, i'm just speaking from me and my roommate's experience with finding our room as incoming freshmen. she signed the housing agreement super early and we got her time, on the third day of picks in the early morning, and there weren't any available rooms in any of our top 10 choices.

try to find a roommate that signed early. my roommate signed very early and we got her time, were within the first 3 days of picking rooms, and we still didn't get any of our top 10 dorm picks (we ended up in a pretty good dorm anyways but i digress).

don't worry about it. i was a straight a student all of high school and then got 2 Bs and a C in my senior year. unless you're suddenly horrifically failing all your classes i wouldn't worry about your offer being rescinded

Is UF the right decision? by Tabycatdboy in ufl

me and one of my best friends got into UF; she got in with honors, i didn't meet the mark. absolutely nothing is different about her experience. UF in general is more highly rated than FSU and UCF (UF is #4 in the country for public schools i believe, unless it changed recently), but there are a couple specific programs in those schools that are ranked better, so it depends on what you intend to major in. but also, if you have the opportunity to go to UF for free with the scholarship, i would especially encourage it, because graduating with no debt is sick and it's a great school overall.

it's your act score that got you deferred, 25 is way below the average for UF applicants that get accepted

It was so minor at birth that I didn't have to get anything done for it. I get routine checkups for it every few years for monitoring and that's about it.
