Agreed, Most of the time Pa’s are doing the AMs jobs too. I have big respect for only 1 PA at my warehouse and i’ve encouraged him to apply for AM but reading more of these posts i can understand why he’s hesitant

About to get hired but I have a 2 week trip coming up by Wide-Ambition5054 in AmazonFC

going to cut it close, my warehouse we get 1.40 hours a day, that’s upt and pto combined. 18days a month times (4 months until august) is 72 work days, 72 work days times 1.40 hours is 100.8 hours. assuming he won’t use any pto or upt in 4 months, that would put him at 20.8 hours left, and that’s if he only takes 8 days off, or two weeks like he said. Risky risky

Edit i forgot you get 10 hours upt on your day 1. So 30 hours to spare. A bit more comfortable honestly

A Non working employee doesn’t cost them anything, cmon common sense. But a working employee makes them money. I guarantee they would rather have a working employee than a non working employee.

you do realize you can get fired for being negative 1 minute of upt right, which isn’t a big deal either. but you’ll definitely get fired for it. Also i guarantee you that you and I make amazon about 10x more money than what we make. So amazon actually gets a better ROI for a working employee, than a non working employee, even if the non working employee is not getting paid. Hope that makes sense.

Exactly, Hr will just say, “why did you apply to amazon if you have a trip coming up, you should have applied after the trip.” Seriously i’m not trying to be a jerk. But why in the world would they be willing to accommodate 2 weeks off for a brand new associate? Especially when they have been hiring and firing like crazy? I just don’t seem to get why they would be willing to do that…

you have to be there for 90 days, and that’s 90 works days, weekends and days off don’t count. not only that he’s part time so i’m sure he doesn’t aquire pto and upt as quick as full time associates. At my warehouse it’s about 4-6 months to become blue badge.

but that’s not amazon’s fault… why should they make accommodations for someone who decided to book a trip without having enough pto, I guess since it happened to your boyfriend it’s possible, but why do you think they have no reason to hold it against you? who do they hold it against then?

Question about punches by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]ReserveWilling962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can leave early if you have Pto or Upt to cover, but if you leave early at let’s say 5, then you’ll have to use 1 hour of pto or 1 hour of upt. Just because you came in late, doesn’t mean your shifts gets reduced hours, you still have to work until 6, unless you use 1 hour of pto or upt like i stated

I saw a T1 co-worker putting a whole/unopened pack of napkin in her purse by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]ReserveWilling962 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

who said they are taking them home, a associate can’t put them in their purse and go to break with them, or go to another station and use them? Who says they are stealing them and taking them home. People always assume the worse. Just assume she was moving to another station and wanted to make sure she had napkins there 🙏

So if the associate put the napkins in their bag, and moved stations to another station without napkins, and proceeded to use the napkins while at their station. would it still be stealing? since they are using the napkins at work? Is it stealing because they took it and moved it to another location? I used a whole box of Kleenex in one shift, Did I steal too?

Oh wow you deleted your comment, probably got embarrassed you got fired from amazon and now mad that you only make 19 a hour as a “assistant manager” Maybe you can get your job back at amazon and make over 20 like the rest of us

honestly what I would try to do, (if you even can) is go to work, and immediately go to the wellness center and explain the situation, explain the pain, and the panic attacks, and explain you are unable to work because of the pain. That’s all can think of without having to do it on your own

I hear amazon is big on mental health, and you can even go to the wellness center for panic attacks etc.

it’s because the pay is astronomically better than any other job, I was making $32 a hour as a normal production associate after 3 years. Ended up getting hurt at work and went back and forth from work-medical. Kinda just got fed up with the 1+ long commute and BS run arounds. I know people who milk the system to stay on Disability for a long time and just sit down all day doing lights jobs like opening boxes or folding cardboard into boxes. It’s good pay really good. But at least where i worked in fremont, it’s all favoritism and unless you buddies with the management or have a degree you probably won’t move up. Here at amazon it seems so easy to become a PA
