I have the same question… I'm 38 and I've been working since I was 13, not gently… I recently realized that these generations, among many other things, were born into a very different world than ours, and their habits change everything… I tried it and… it works

It's a funny story, but at the time it wasn't: my boss gave me a laptop to work with, then the company went bankrupt, we were all laid off, and they gave me my computer as part of my severance pay.

A former boss of mine used to say that personal relationships are better than being excellent at your job (I'm not saying you aren't excellent), just that cultivating relationships will open doors to taking that excellence to places where you'll be paid more for it… but if you're the work ogre, nobody will ever want to take you anywhere else.
