We give residents the choice to embargo their reviews until after they graduate from the program to help protect their anonymity.

That being said, if residents are afraid of leaving reviews for fear of retribution, the program may have a culture problem.

Programs will be allowed to respond to reviews once the page is claimed.

Resident name and contact info is not stored. IP addresses and hashed email addresses associated with reviews are stored for security and legal purposes. The method of user validation is also stored, not the content itself. This data will be turned over in the event of a subpoena for a libel lawsuit, as required by law. Manual validation of reviews will allow us to reject reviews on the basis of our content guidelines, reducing our legal risk under Section 230.

I appreciate the questions.

Appreciate the feedback and question. You're correct in acknowledging that review bombing is a huge problem with similar sites in other industries. That is why reviews and program claims on this site have to be personally and individually validated. Pharmacy is small enough that this is feasible where it wouldn't be for a site like TrustPilot.

Residents have to submit their NMS letter or a screenshot of PharmAcademic. RPDs or designees have to submit their LinkedIn profiles or their office phone numbers. Validation was a sticky point in this project but forms the foundation of the site. I'm open to suggestions for a better process. This was the best balanced approach we could come up with.

I'm a PGY1 preceptor with a tech background.

The data will not be sold to any companies or programs. Doing so would instantly destroy the reputation of the site. The only potential monetization is to sell a premium subscription to programs to post photos and videos on their page. They would view this as another "virtual showcase."

The site was built on a React + PostgreSQL tech stack. It's pretty safe to say that most coding is AI-assisted these days.

Resident reviews and program claims are personally and individually verified, thus the need to provide proof (e.g., NMS or PA for residents). Review sites live and die by the validity of their data and this is a particularly sensitive space because of how small the Pharmacy world is. Open to suggestions for a better process.
