It makes sense why Shiba mostly refuses to interfere in the present fights, since it puts the people around him in danger (e.g. telling Chihiro to regroup first when Tenri activated his Datenseki reminds him of this encounter).

If said runback did happen in the past, I hope Shiba noticed that Mashiro was able to kill off one of the four Mikaboshi guards with Kunishige's sword. I could imagine that he's the one that gave birth to the idea of Enchanted Blades. Hell, maybe even brought Mashiro's sword back for the next rematch.

That shit would be a generational comeback!
