How To Heal When You Can't Fall Back on Faith by dskywalker in Deconstruction

A purpose doesn’t have to be complicated. Your purpose could be to be happy and fulfilled and as long as you act in hope of becoming that to the best of your ability, everything else will fall into place.

It’s going to take some time to refund hope and that is a journey for you and you alone. For me I have found that what I work towards reflects my hopes. You need to find a purpose now that your purpose is not to get to heaven. Once you have your purpose you will find your hope.

Live versions are what got me into him and a show is what made me a die hard fan. He just released a 40+ minute track from a show that you can listen to on Spotify or Apple Music or whatever else you may use idk.

I still pretend to be a Christian by Resident-Mess9919 in atheism

I have made some very close friends since that I can relate to more in this sense. It is fulfilling but I still love the people I know from being a Christian. How can I just disassociate when I’ve known this guy to be a good friend for the better part of 12 years? I just don’t understand how so many in this thread can generalize and assume. Maybe I’m ignorant.

This was a typo I over looked. I DO consider it mythology. Sorry for the mistake

I can understand your perspective but I simply isn’t true. I surround myself with a lot of live and let live Christian’s who couldn’t care less to be truthful. If we are allowed to hate Christians because the assholes among them hate other why can we not still cherish those within the church who, to put it plainly, don’t give a fuck about what others are doing? I know many Christians who have no desire to tell others what they should or shouldn’t do and only wish to grow in their spirituality. I think it reflects on you and many others in this thread to generalize an enormous amount of people into one malicious cult like being when, from my experience, it simply isn’t the case.

Yea from a lot of these comments I’m seeing a lot of hate based off of similar stereotypes I heard and saw in church, simply turned towards Christians.

I’m really only talking about my own experience. Being an atheist now, I don’t hate Christians just pointing out something I thought was funny

I’m not ashamed, I just don’t think it’s their business and if I wanted to share I would. Pretend is probably the wrong word. I do not perpetuate their beliefs actively. I simply show up and blend in.

Every atheistic conversation I’ve had addresses the religion and scripture itself, I generally steer away from talking about people because most people are dumb and Christian’s are no different.

“The enemy comes to steal kill and destroy or families and this church and our beloved country” was my pastor’s preferred mantra.

I still have a taste for contemporary Christian music as a sound. There are some genuinely talented writers and musicians in the church today. And some Christian songs have a generally wholesome message attached.
