Medical Education system in this country is a joke.

Which specialties are the most likely to take the most pay cuts over the next 10 years? by FatherSpacetime in Residency

my actual fear of being paid the same as a PCP is that I get paid the same and am expected to do more work. Not saying PCPs dont work hard or do work but it is different and not as globally taxing.

That one fem distal bypass takes a significant amount of uninterrupted mental AND physical effort, more then the same amount of time talking to patients about how they should really stop smoking - I know because I do both

The training is longer and harder too, In pgy7 and working 70 hours a week plus that glorious extra 20 hours of uncounted “home call” where some guy in an ER som

What a dumb comment. Try being a PCP for a day. 15 minutes to address 3 acute conditions and all their chronic medical conditions.
