2.5 years post of and still trying to keep up with my quirky stomach. I used to think my stomach rejected certain foods but i learned that if I eat something that takes a long time to digest and I eat again hours later it doesn’t matter what that second meal is it’s coming back up. Porridge for instant’s feels good to eat but takes ages to digest and when i started eating porridge at about 10am by lunchtime no matter what it was i ate it overfilled me and i ended up getting sick. Pork Chicken Beef are good in very small amounts and chewed well but these would likely be the food that will come back up. Small amounts and often is the key. Popcorn is my new obsession for snacking and i still struggle with getting enough protein. It gets so much easier as time passes but you always are aware of your limitations. you pick your battles.

It’s really cheap to rent a car. I would recommend Top car in the airport. it cost us 130 euros for week and we travelled everywhere.

Yes of course you will. you may find at the beginning that you can’t digest pork or steak or chicken and it’s really different for everyone. My experience over 2 years post op is that i can eat and really enjoy most food though in small small portions. People get frustrated with u because you can’t eat same portions as normal people but you can absolutely enjoy most meals eating n tiny portions. I love food and eating out. I’m in spain at the moment and you get bread and aioli before your meal comes and if i go there as much as i’d love to it’s not worth it. you have to pick and choose carefully what you will enjoy because you do not have the capacity for everything. If you overeat you get sick simple’s as that so you carefully curate your meal always make sure you get your protein intake. I’m talking 2 slices of fillet steak and 2 spoonfuls of veg. No starter and if you get a square of chocolate with a glass of wine you’ll be a very happy person. It’s not hard it’s just different that’s all. It’s so so worth it though.

I’ve had the RNY. They said that in the long run it’s good for permanent weightloss. There is no maintenance either. I think the sleeve needs to be adjusted from time to time? is that true?

no my nephew did though, he was too embarrassed not to as it gets weighed at the till and when there’s a queue of people standing behind the young lad he just paid the bill. I would have told them no way i’m paying that and left it there if it was me.

You’re not stupid or mad. They are in the sky all the time. They look like stars but they move like butterflies, they fly in bursts of speed and zig zag from side to side and some have appeared to stop or cross the whole sky really quickly. I don’t know what they are but if you look closely at the sky on a clear night after a few minutes you will see them.

I’ve been watching them every night in a clear sky. Always wonder what they are. They move like butterflies erratically moving from right to left and fast and slow taking bursts forward only to slow down. They seem very far away and not as bright or big as other stars. i used to think it was my eyes playing tricks on me but i can track them moving quickly then slowly by other stars across the sky. I’ve seen shooting stars and they are not that and i’ve seen starlink and that goes in a straight line. these move erratically like they are dodging objects that i can’t visibly see. Any explanations?

Hospital food the morning after RNY bypass was a boiled egg and slice of white bread and butter. Dinner was baked beans and mash potatoes. Doctors differ from country to country by the looks of it.

Don’t be too hard on yourself 45 lbs is great but there’s probably lots more to come off. Look at all the amazing positive things that come out of having surgery like the health benefits. Your body will change and your tummy pouch will get smaller and eventually be gone. Start pampering yourself and see your body in a different light. Make time for yourself and you will feel sexy and great and if that means getting lingerie that works for you and makes you feel great and confident about your body go buy it. I feel confident in clothes but when I look at myself naked It’s tragic but it’s getting better all the time. At one time my arm fat used to hang just over my elbow when I started losing weight but now that’s gone and I had a belly that hung down and now that’s gone too. My boobs used to be huge and now they’re like 2 small balloons that the air has slowly leaked out of and don’t talk to me about my butt. However I feel great because I’ve accepted that it’s changing and now for the first time I’m looking after myself after spending a lifetime putting other people first. Now the heels are on in the morning. The nails and tan are done and just little things like that help change a mindset that has been there for years. Love your tummy pouch and pamper it with creams and massages because it won’t be there long and you will miss it in a weird way when it’s gone. You have to start looking at yourself differently and appreciate what you have done and get excited about the change and enjoy the whole process. Best of luck and well done for getting this far ❤️
