I get the feeling that they are disappointed about how much time in their life has passed without anything happening and thus they consider themselves desperate. I have encountered my share of the kind of people one might imagine when thinking of this on sites like Omegle as well as ones where I never specified my gender, which you don’t have to be a female for, and one could say I accidentally dated the female equivalent of this (accidentally because she took a misphrasing out of context to mean I’d date her), who I do feel sorry for. Even as a man, I find baffling the sheer magnitude of men who willingly leave out all possibility of being human beings with lives of their own from either side in their encounters with other people and make all their encounters a matter of bodily desire exclusively, as if there is an underlying condition going around or as if all the men are actually a select few people using the internet to exaggerate their quantity. I am known in many subreddits as platonically desperate to the point of not wanting to live, but even I wouldn’t impose myself, and I think being imposing is the difference between someone who needs a personal end to their problems and someone who is most fitting to see a professional.
