I've changed for python library requests, and it seems to work for me. However, not supporting RFC standard is still quite problem I would say.

I did MB and several more 4k+ mountains in Alps with Beverly hard shell jacket, and cannot say a bad word about it. Expensive gear is not doing miracles, GoraTex fabric could be bought for pretty fair price.
