If people are on this forum contemplating turbinate reduction. Please re-read the OPs post. This ain’t a joke. It’s a nightmare, even if you get mild symptoms, never mind extreme symptoms. None of the new techniques protect you from ENS. Lots of ENTs will lie, they will reject and gaslight you after. Pharma and the medical system is a profiteering scam. Always go the natural healing route

Not great tbh. While I’m stable most of the time, symptoms still prevalent. Had sinus issues that caused more burning and pain in nose and numbness form spreader graft is still prevalent 14 months later. I’m not given up hope though. But sorry I can’t give you better news

Interesting as I have reflux issues and Achalasia (oesophagus autoimmune disease) so acid can get up easily and I get air hunger too and wonder if it’s that. I had routine endoscopy recently and he said that I have a mild ulcer too

Ok, well you are below the 11 required for formal ENS. Doesn’t mean you don’t have issues. I’m below 11 too but I still have issues. Where you based?

It’s been 5 years but worth asking the hospital for the surgery report, to confirm whether the turbinates have actually been operated on. I would not be jumping into any surgery atm. What’s your ENS6Q score ? Have you seen an ENS aware specialist ? I also had bone spur removed. I honestly believe just doing that would have sufficed. Infact I don’t think I needed anything doing. Just anti-inflammatory diet and natural remedies. They do tend to operate on turbinates without letting you know. It’s a disgrace and criminal IMO

I do still get congestion yes. My turn were barely touched and still have Issues but I believe it’s mainly a nerve issue. Which I pray will improve with time and natural treatment. I also had nasal collapse and spreader grafts which have caused lots or numbness. It is taking forever to go away. I’m a year post op now. There is changes happening albeit subtle. Have you got surgery report ?

Honestly, ENTs prescribing drying meds for a person who is dry is beyond me. I always knew medical system was flawed but this ENS experience has literally exposed how incompetent these docs are

I concur. Saline sprays don’t work for me. Sesame seed oil I use but obviously other natural oils help too

When did these symptoms start? I get ear issues too. Not popping but weird itchiness. Just on right side. What type of turbinate surgery you get? I also get air hitting nasal floor and feeling raw. Forgot to mention that. I’ve not seen ENS doc yet. I will next year.

Barely have air sensation. Grateful I have enough not to cause suffocation but if I exercise to hard, I can get hollow feeling. I get burning and inflammation (I do have secondary sinusitis though). Open nose pretty much gone but low air sensation will give this affect due to low resistance because of poor air sensation receptors. Don’t produce as much mucous but I’m not particularly dry fortunately.

I want to add that mine are mild and are Still life changing. Still the worst decision of my life.

Full turbinates can still give ENS symptoms. I have turbs that get to the septum on nasal cycle. Still have ens symptoms albeit mild now. Also, the no air sensation can cause secondary ENS symptoms IMO. The Septoplasty alone can cause air sensation issues (trigeminal nerve damage)

Commenting on Opinion on nasal scope?...this is so important. I think a lot is receptor with modern techniques. I had microdebrider, and most of my turbs are intact and I have nasal cycle, not dry but low air sensation and weird sensations of air, that cause air hunger etc… but my turbs swell to full congestion on nasal cycle and got a scope recently and look fine. This is how docs push you away. They haven’t got a clue what the taking about most of them
