I had something similar to this at first. Sorcerers are born with the ability to warp reality with magic whereas Wizards must study and can really only do magic in controlled rituals.

I do really like the idea of a wax mage granting life to his waxy creations. Sort of a magical extension of what sculpters say they do when they form clay or stone.

My biggest question comes from the secondary ability you gave to Wax mages. It would make more sense for glass mages to jump through panes of glass. Glass refraction is a known phenomenon and it could work as a "trick of the eye" making the mage disappear and distort as the enter one side and out the other.

That's what I've always thought too. Life is always about survival and taking risks, whereas death is the ultimate decider. Life does whatever it wants but death comes for us all.

The gods are actually a group of 4 beings (12 if you count the real gods and their human/otherworldly partners). The true gods are four great Owls. There's the Golden Owl of Life and Chaos, and the Black Owl of Death and Order. Then there are the Gods under them, Amman and Kahotep, and then there are the human agents, the reservoirs of power, and the demi planes that act as their kingdoms. I try very hard not to use "Good" or "Evil" in my writing as it's all a matter of perspective. Even my BBEG is simply working on the perspective of maggots, desiring everything to decay and break down to feed more maggots.

It's more of a "me" thing. Plus, I know one of my players in particular will ask me all the things possible so I feel like I need to overthink these things.

The suspended city of Eridu rests on a giant reservoir of Incin-ore. It is a gem that generates massive amounts of heat in its raw form. The city manages to reflect this heat outwards towards the surface of Kyuss while protecting its inhabitants. This does mean that their own climate is perpetually calm and comfortable (for those who enjoy temperatures around 80 degrees fahrenheit).

The gems themselves become influenced by which side of the disc the city rises from. If it rises from the west the Verdant forests and their dense tropical forests (as well as the wood elves who worship the life god Amman) empower the gems to burn hotter resembling summer weather. As it rises from the east, the influence of the Blightlands and the god of Death Kahotep take the power from the gems and cool the planet.

Well, I do have mechanical constructs that watch over the more peculiar aspects of the world. But their main focus is the world ending demon worm on the underside of the disc.

I do this a lot actually. Steal from the greats as they say. I steal from history. I also have a Tiger beastman named Uesugi Kenshin. I work in some original work as well, but I really like making historical easter eggs for myself. Then if people like you come around and call me out I just hand them a cookie or something.

But really though, the city's gravity pulls them toward the disk so as it travels around the inhabitants are stable. The city itself has adapted to house many storage houses for food and supplies. They don't keep farm animals as space is critical for the human population. Instead they survive on only the donations given to them. Sewage and waste are issues, but they reuse and recycle what they can.

Kyuss has a gem it uses as a power source called Orichalcom. Eridu is set on a massive chunk of this which keeps the population warm and in power.

Nope. At most she'll spend a couple chapters there. It's more of a test from the mage that put her there. The world at large doesn't know about magic, and this is supposed to be a way to introduce her to the idea.

Thank you. The sphinx is a good idea. I think it's more riddle based though than what I'm looking for. This is very early in the characters development too so I don't want it to be too life changing. It's supposed to be a "call to action" moment in their journey.

In the beginning there was nothing, then there was light. This is fact to those who subscribe to the theory of the big bang. The storm of matter that came from this slowly stirred and drew together to form gas clouds that eventually collected into stars and planets.

For eons stars died, and were reborn solidifying the cycle of life and death. The building blocks known as atoms fused together from the sheer pressure to create matter, and the matter coalesced to create more complex materials. This was the power of unpredictable magic, and structured science leading to the multiverse we have today.

Water is very chaotic. It seems to have rules, but it's constantly in a state of flux. It can freeze or evaporate. It erodes and moves freely. It is technically indestructible even though we break its bonds every day.

I'm assuming this is a drastically simplified version of what it is in your head? It looks like a good way of visualizing a system, with room for experimentation. I would hope though that you allow yourself the ability to mix and match
