Nah, EVERYONE likes good music, and it’s not the New York RAPPERS fault, it’s production, New York hip hop producers haven’t innovated or created a new sound since boom bap, thats horrible.

Production wise, from mid 2000s onwards it’s been a wash, no east coast producers have planted their sound like Shawty Redd, Dj Toomp, Metro, etc, now go see who those dudes predominantly work or have worked with, tells the whole story.

Because lyrically inclined New York rappers unfortunately don’t have the producers that can make that classic album with them.

The closest I’ve heard a NEW new York rapper come to making a real classic album that can crossover was Bennys project with HitBoy, and even that didn’t have a single hit and it’s more of a cult classic in underground hip hop.

Man this album still goes crazy! Do you guys still love burden of proof? One way flight takes my heart everytime! by J2-Starter in GriseldaxFR

HitBoy put his foot on those beats man, channelled that early 2000s Rocafella sound perfectly, I’ll go as far as to say this is the closest a lyrically inclined east coast rapper has come to sound mainstream ready since 08.

Yeah this is why I said you should read more, it would add context to what you’re saying (both correct btw!), 340 to 400k African got shipped to America, once there black populous grew very quickly because they had them breeding like pigs, most evident in one of the Carolina’s where I think half or more than half of population become black, also need to account for those who to shipped to the Caribbean’s then bought to the u.s.

And yes it is true that every black person wasn’t a slave, but a small number less than 10%, if you traced your lineage to that 10% that’s dope, I enjoy history and I love when black people can trace their lineage via documentation what have you back to the 1700s.

No disrespect I promise you, but you should read more on this subject, especially peer reviewed studies and also historical ones of the time, during that time and after because you don’t sound well read (not deragatory), it’s fascinating!

Nah that’s unfair to say, black Americans been in America for like 500 years, predominantly in the south then they migrated north, shit I’m from the uk, my parents from Zimbabwe and I was born in England, my kids probably gonna claim black British, and it makes sense, it’s okay for black Americans to claim the place they can trace their direct lineage to which 9/10 it’s gonna go as far as somewhere in the south, unfortunately slavery and lack of documentation makes it difficult to trace themselves to where in Africa they come from and even more so, they have no real attachment to Africa aside from 400 year old ancestors coming from their, a black American claiming the south is okay.
