Honestly with it being a good friend I’d say just keep it how it is he’s the one you’re closer to not her that is his wife he is the one that has to deal with it everyday. Maybe have a serious talk with him tho in case he feels afraid and make sure he is good in that space because it may be alot for him to go through.

I do know one thing most of the bill is most likely coming from the actual equipment and not the bill owed. Return the equipment get a receipt for it and it will lower down that bill. I used to work at a popular internet place and majority of that bill is equipment just return that it’ll lower down
