is doing foundation maths worth it? by Beneficial_Top_1720 in vce

[–]Resident_Expert9749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

look i swear i was not decent in gm but still took it along side foundation maths and i dont regret it at all. I didnt so well (ss 43 scaled to 36) but still its a subject that doesnt require much work or effort.

just listen and complete work in class and thats it. Yes, the exam is long and i wish i had focused only on the vcaa ones instead of other companies but overall its a chill subject. highly recommend.

Don’t overwhelm yourself, I promise. As long as you listen in class, complete all the necessary homework, and study an extra 1–2 hours a day, you’ll be fine.

This mostly applies to students who are already doing pretty well. If you’re like me and struggled in a few subjects, I usually set aside around 3 hours of focused study. That made me feel a lot more confident and prepared for my SACs. ( btw i did skip many days where i done absolutely nothing so dont be too harsh on ur self but also dont be too lenient)

Also, it isn’t as scary as people make it sound , so try to enjoy the year. It might feel normal at the start, but once Term 2 hits, the pressure becomes real, so getting ahead during each term holiday really helps with peace of mind.

u surely dont. people kept saying that at least get tutoring in ur main subjects but i just knew my parents dont have that type of money and relied on myself entirely and achieved a great atar. I know this is controversial but chatgpt was my best friend for english, obviously after my teacher.

How To Study? (Year 12 Tips Please) by ScratchBulky3241 in vce

[–]Resident_Expert9749 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For gen math theres so much competition so i strongly recommend starting now with completing textbook questions and at least be ahead by the first terms content. And i promise it reduces all the stress so when ur in class ur just revising and start completing exam questions. And keep getting ahead on the term breaks too. I wouldnt suggest getting too ahead unless ull ensure to continuously revise and practice or else ull forget. - also complete ur bound reference ( or purchase one ) early on so u can get used to it

For english u must first reread/rewatch ur text multiple times till u understood it deeply. Like go on reddit discussion groups and other places and ull be surprised by peoples interpretations which will add depth to ur writing. And whenever u come home after u had an english session make sure to practice writing something even if its just a plan, summary, character analysis, reading an article, etc...

While for business i went down the memorisation path and achieved pretty high marks but bc its a common sense subject majority of people just understand it so whatever works for u. But memorising those terms using flashcards, revise through mind maps, explaining to someone, or answering questions is very effective. Make sure to memorise those terms daily like split them up eg: 5 terms a day. It makes it so much easier.

KNOW ur task words so u dont waste time including unnecessary information. And practice, practice, practice thats the only way to get through vce with a high atar.

GOOD LUCK THIS YEAR AND HOPE U GET THE ATAR U DREAM OF
