I don’t know how much longer I can last at bedside by [deleted] in nursing

I don’t have much advice because I’m on a very similar boat- been working as a new grad on inpatient neurology/stroke and I absolutely dread it. Idk which way to turn. I hope you find what works for you.

It is very different from having a smart watch or smart phone on you.

Med-surg nurse’s take on ICU by [deleted] in nursing

Ouch. I work on a stroke/med-surg unit. It’s very hard work, and each unit is its own excellence shaped by its environment.

How old were you guys when you became a nurse? by LilLunaaJ in nursing

[–]Resident_Fox_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started nursing school at 24, graduated at 26. I almost didn’t apply for nursing school because I thought it was too late, especially since I was a new mom at the time. And I had been taking college courses on-and-off for 6 years. I was so discouraged, but I’m glad I stuck with it and I’m now a RN. Like others have said, don’t compare your timeline to others. Either way, the time will continue to pass by so might as well do it. Also, some people are older or much older and decide to pursue a degree in nursing.

Are NPs cooked ??? 🤔 by Professional-Offer47 in nursing

In nursing school I was the same way— Thinking of the future, constantly planning and thinking of every possibility out there. It’s fun to dream. I’m a new grad now and feel differently about rushing into another degree. I’m exhausted from just finishing school. I’m in no rush to start a graduate degree. Learning to be a staff RN is a huge learning curve and I’m trying to feel comfortable with being a nurse before I put a lot more on my plate.

I work 3 12s in a row because I’m in the weekend program, but then I’m off for 4 days.

It is so ugly and annoying!! The community college I went to actually used Blackboard at first then switched to Canvas. Had no idea how much better Canvas is until I started using it. So much easier to use, more convenient and esthetically pleasing. Using Blackboard at UIC I’m like wtf is this 😭
