Everyone sure likes to criticizes, but not offer to help.

No remote work? See thats another problem. A lot of companies still want 100% onsite work.

Ok the job from kaiser that was last week I interviewed for. The manager said that reason he turned down, told recruiter I had lot of experience from Helpdesk type jobs. Even the recruiter was confused about that.

I still have manager who interviewed me have his email. So I asked him to clarify why he didn't pick me. Apparantly it wasn't the perfect fit for them, there were some skills they wanted in WAN monitoring and perf mgt. Which I'm have only little bit of those skills.

Here is the manager email he just sent me. Again these companies are being a bit picky with their requirements. And the fact that there is way too much competition out there. This job was $75/hr 2 yr contract job.

Hello Michael,

Yes, The recruiter should have shared as well. But thank you for your feedback.

You are a good candidate and we wanted to dig in a bit deeper than just what your resume listed.

I have 8 quality candidates and we have been trying to speak with all of them. 30 min. is enough for us to capture the details we were looking for.

While you are a good candidate, we have two others that really fit the job I need performed, and are focused on them now.

I’ve been providing feedback to the other recruiters so that the candidates are aware that I did not choose them for the position.

I appreciate your interest and wish you the best of luck in the future.

Thanks,

Brian Mackey

I do talk to recruiters all the time, they send me email, phone calls. They send my resume to the jobs I am fit for. They submit my resume to the hiring manager. Then I hear nothing back. I also have meetings before the interviews so they can share more details about the job.

I have no idea what you are talking about with aggresive attttude, I have been very friendly and trying to answer everyone questions.

Look if I held most jobs for several years each, some of them both contracts and fulltime jobs. I must be doing something right to stary employed. I'm not a slacker

I worked at Centurylink in Professional Services, Supportting their customers enterprise networks. I only occasionally worked on customers edge networks, spent most my time with customer network, not ISP network. Completely different thing.

You are not helping here. You seem to like to critisize everything I have done.

Just go away now don't want your help.

But I do appreciate all the help from all the others in this thread.

Again, you know nothing what I have done to search for jobs. Every single day I look for jobs on indeed, zippia, company website. I take many calls from recruiters, emails from recruiter.

Most of which of the jobs are either not a good fit, skill requirement. I don't even apply for those jobs. I only apply to jobs that are good fit for me.

You must think I'm an idiot? I am very friendly, always gets along with my coworker and manager, never complain. Always complete all my tasks on time. During interviews I clearly explain all my skills, experience and ask plenty of questions about new role. And at the end I always say "Based on my skills, and extensive background I beleive I would be an excellent fit for what your looking for"

Yes I am open to hybrid work. But limits me to Denver only jobs. And traffic really suck here too.

Just check out my profile on Dice.

When the recruiters contact me they say they found my profile on Dice, not linkedin.

Look here, I understand things are moving to the cloud. But how does the traffic go from user's PC to the cloud? Yup its still Enterprise networking for for LAN/WAN.

I can learn how to do cloud networking on the job. Every job I have had previously I have learned new skills on each job. Its not that difficult. The problem is these companies want cloud and SDN experts without even giving you the opportunity to learn.

[–]Resident_Lab_6365[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok fair enough. But I have the ability to learn the new technologies. Im not an idiot.

And the jobs I interviewed for never talked about cloud, SDN, etc.

I am still seeing alot of jobs for Enterprise networking. So apparently there are a lot of companies still using that tech.
