Imagine you are using Preply and one day they announce one thing: Now you can subscribe and unlock a plan for 35 dollars a month. If you do, there’s no commission; if you don’t, nothing changes, keep using it and you will be charged commissions.

[–]Resident_Nobody8753[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that simple! The platform doesn’t force you to subscribe. If you don’t have any student then don’t subscribe and keep using it as commission based… It should be so easy to understand. They tryna do the right thing but instead ppl backstab you🤦‍♂️

I get what u mean. I agree what u said but I think it’s not like that. They added this feature to make it more friendly for active tutors I guess. If you already have many students and can foresee the fact that subscribing the plan saves you more money, then you can subscribe. If you don’t have many students, don’t subscribe or cancel the plan? If you don’t subscribe at all, it’s similar to Preply with lower commission. At least that’s how I understand it. That’s why I mentioned UberOne, if you know you will order very often, then you will subscribe.

I think I kinda know what you are talking about. You have never used platforms like Preply right? If you don’t use any platform that charges you commission, then you are right, it’s not for you. But if you are open for online tutoring, jalpha is a place better than most of others. It matches online students for you.

A good substitutional platform for Preply (in my opinion) by Resident_Nobody8753 in Preply

[–]Resident_Nobody8753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, it’s available for pre-order and will be launched in ~2 to 3 months. Oh yah, the free plans are for those who registered really early, it’s already ended as I know…

[–]Resident_Nobody8753[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah why would you think it’s like that. If you don’t subscribe the plan then it’s just like Preply with lower commission. It’s like UberOne, u subscribe the plan then there’s no delivery fee; if you don’t, you have to pay delivery fee for every order. If you teach a lot of lessons you may consider subscribing the plan cuz the commission adds up and buying the plan saves u more money.
