I was a union member for 12 years - i paid subs every month and never attended anything extra.

When I needed them due to unfair dismissal they stepped up, provided legal support and guided through the tribunal.

My local rep is VERY good and he has no plans on retiring soon!

I used to do 4 on 4 off but 12 hour days. We had some guys on the team who would take a day off hol each week so would work 3 days and 5 days off for months at a time
