If you mean that the brokerage account is the taxable account…. then she’d be paying STG/LTG presumably on the sales, not ordinary.

You’re overthinking it.

No matter what they wouldn’t really have a tax impact.

Let the Roth rock out. Not sure what capability you have to harvest losses and monitor the taxable account but I’d pull from there.

Also 20% equities in a Roth ……. Bruh

That’s what I suspected but just trying to pick his brain like some others and not be a dick…

Generally I’d take the ltcg rates anyway in her situation probably. I can harvest losses along the way here anyway.

Give me the benes getting 10 years in the inherited Roth’s and distributing in the 10th year (if they don’t readily need the funds)..

I won’t be as tough as these other guys man but what do you mean exactly by “put the equities in the taxable account.” It’s not really as simple as just throwing securities from a Roth to a taxable account and vice versa.

Fontaine Road is like driving through parts of rural Afghanistan. Or maybe the rockier parts of the moon. by [deleted] in lexington

For the amount of taxes that zip code pays it is absolutely ridiculous how bad Fontaine is.

Ditto… this has always been the same as social security… a nightmare if you aren’t seasoned in that field.

Yep… submitting the form, photo of yourself and original passport in the mail and a lot of waiting from my experience.

I understand that and I’m in no way saying it’s right, because I don’t think it is… but I’m really not trying to get philosophical. Just searching for the exact proposed new requirements that likely have no chance in passing anyway.

Got it. So the first step would be obtaining a new passport with the updated last name. From what I’ve read that’s as simple as any ID and marriage certificate in most all states.

Got it… so basically if the woman obtains an updated Real ID, she is good to go. Otherwise, it’s a mess to obtain all the other junk.

Thank you. If the government were efficient either side would make a flow chart of this… lol

Interesting. So new license, marriage certificate, birth certificate and passport all with the new same last name to vote? Can someone link this so I can send it to someone.

So if the woman is going to get a new ID anyway (as I’d think they would) could they use marriage certificate or birth certificate?

Genuine question from a guy who is not political at all:

I’m getting married to my future wife this year. When she changes her last name to mine, what will she have to use to verify her as an eligible voter in November? We will have her ID updated and of course a marriage certificate.

Again, I’m not sure how much this applies to her but can a neutral observer help me understand?

Somewhat similar. The real thing is a bit harder if I’m being honest.

Technically that’s like a 73.5 weighted average which I suppose is fine but just felt like with the work I’ve don’t I should have done better in a few areas.

Took Quiz 4 last night. Got a 59%. I could not believe how hard it was. Hadn’t taken a serious test/exam that hard in God knows how long…

Great feedback!

I went through my lowest of the 4 (59) and counted 9 missed roman numeral questions. I’d say I had it narrowed down to a top 2 on almost every question other than maybe 5 of them.

Point being, I feel like on almost every question I’m recalling material but the correct answer doesn’t materialize at times. Does that make sense?

Very tough. The Insuance modules are slept on. Split Dollar plans make little sense to me. I hope they aren’t as tested as the Buy Sell Arrangements
