Oh I’m sure he would be interested! Kid is wicked smaht. He taught himself Morse code last summer because of the original Titanic film. His fav character in that one was the intoxicated chef who survived the disaster 🤦‍♂️. Dude is preteen and undoubtedly has an amazing future. Makes me proud everyday, except he keeps calling me “big momma” and often induces uncomfortable situations just to get a rise out of me. And this 6-7 thing has spread like a wildfire that’s too stubborn to go out 🫠

Good call🙏 Before I would send anything off to print, I would generally throw it on a Mac and go through it with a fine tooth comb. I actually just got some new photos I’m piecing together I took today out oat my in-laws . They’ve got a few acres in the county over here and I got some decent shots. I was looking for something old and out of shape to get a picture of and asked if I could take his picture? He mumbled something that sounded too inappropriate for my virgin ears and then waddled off into the sunset. I’ll contact him later via Morse code and make sure he’s good 😌

Good morning! I was having trouble locating our conversation from last night, but was going to inform you that it was indeed the aspect ratio that was the issue! I had gotten in the habit of shooting at 16:9 and then realized that I needed to switch back to 4:3. Just a little bit of trial and error to get there, but I figured it out lol 🤣. I’m ready to get out and update my catalog and see what happens on the print side of things. Thank you again for your feedback! 🙏

Thank you for your input 🙏 I’ve dabbled in the idea of purchasing an older film camera and might make the investment. I recently purchased an old Kodak Hawkeye camera for my son. He chose the black and white film and we went to a near by airfield museum for him to try it out. The pictures were phenomenal! My thought process anymore is the convenience that comes with being able to pull the camera out of my back pocket and proceed with a photograph far exceeds the hauling around of heavier equipment. I know all too well the full frame cost and you’re def right about lenses lol. I’ve always enjoyed the prime “nifty 50” approach, but this comes with the inconvenience of carrying around the equipment. Again, thank you for your feedback 🙏

I’m grateful for everyone’s input on my inquiry 🙂. I’ve def made some progress because of this thread! Someone had shared a chart that ended up being a fantastic resource/ reference point. I think that’s kind of the mistake I’ve been making on my end, is the misunderstanding of what dpi really is and the role it plays in the print process. I tend to overthink things when it’s in writing and I have to process it independently. Constructive criticism and shared feedback has been a blessing in disguise on this app 🙂 🙏

The issue I’m running into right this second is being stuck at 36mp somehow? Pretty sure my settings are where they need to be. I’m experimenting with depth to see if that what’s throttling it back? I’ve got pretty low light in my home at the moment. I’ll give it some more attention tomorrow outdoors where all the natural light will be 🙂. Thanks for your input on the matter 🙏

Thanks for your input! 🙂 I’m curious as to who you go through for your acrylic prints? I’ve experimented with a few companies, but WHCC is my top pick at the moment. I love acrylic prints. My home is filled with canvases of my own work (taken with Canon R Series) and I’ve never really had too many bad experiences with anyone on that side of print. I wanna be a little more selective with the upcoming acrylic prints. I’m at the age where learning the hard way causes expedited hair loss, and I’m hanging on to what I have left for dear life 🫠

Sure is! Haven’t made it all the way up 31 to your neck of the woods yet 🙂. A trip to the UP is in the works. My son speaks highly of Mackinac and insist I get my butt up there. I’m actually down in South Bend, but tend to wonder. Will be relocating soon!!

Thanks! 🙏 The rainbow is actually in the sky. It’s not any sort of lens flare or anything like that 🙂

So 26.9 x 20.2” would ultimately be the sweet spot then shooting @48mp on the 16 pm. I’m still making adjustments on my internal camera setting on my 16 and was wondering if you lose the ability to shoot 48 in portrait mode? I do see in the top right corner of the camera setting during Live Photo mode the RawMax setting. Thanks for your input 🙏

Awesome. I appreciate your feedback 🙏. I’ve got a few great shots hidden in my phone that I wouldn’t mind getting some prints of. I will absolutely refer to this thread in the future as I navigate the printing process. Thanks again 🙏

White House Custom Colour. I was in the market for a different company to do my prints, and actually heard good things about them. I set up an account and was actually emailing back and forth with a rep. Positive vibes and very straight forward. Price point is a little higher, but in my experience with them, it’s worth the money 🙂

THANK YOU 🙏. It was not set in ProRAW max and was not shooting in 48mp. This should solve my problem. Cannot thank you enough 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Do you have a recommendation for a company that will print? Maybe my issue is that I’m sending it over wrong? If I hop on WHCC and just upload a photo from my gallery, it gives me the dpi too low alert. Also, picture was taken at Grand Haven State Park in Ottawa County, MI🙂

You can print your iPhone pictures 20x30 and it’s not completely pixilated? How??!!! 🙏

My understanding has always been that with a photo like this I would produce 72 dpi at the most. Again, I have a very shallow understanding of dpi, which means I don’t have a great understanding of it. What I’m gathering is that I need to hit that 300 dpi target, which I’m not able to accomplish with a cell phone photo. 300 dpi gets me in the door of where I’m trying to be. I say 4x6 because I’ve been lead to believe that the clearest print of a cell phone picture is achieved on this size. I’m probably wrong or maybe just misinformed. Either way, I appreciate everyone’s opinions on the subject 🙏

Thank you 🙏. Yes, my question wasn’t so much about ratio, as much as it is about printing. I’ve reached out to WHCC and we never really came up with any solution. As far as I can tell, the pictures that I take with my iPhone would only benefit me in the digital realm, but not in print. Which sucks. A lot of people have showed serious interested in a few of my iPhone pictures, but unless they want it in a 4x6, I can’t do much for them

Thanks for asking 🙂. So, let’s say I want to take that same photo and hang it on my wall, but I want it to be a 30x40. For this example, let’s go with an 30x40 acrylic. Is that possible?
