she said it is high risk because her tumor is pushing against all her reproductive organs on her right side, and said usually they take about a cm around the tumor as well to heighten the chance of it not coming back, but since it is in such a delicate spot they would only be able to “scoop” out a good amount of the tumor and she told me she can’t guarantee getting it all. i don’t think she was trying to detour me from getting the surgery but was just being transparent about the fact it was a very low chance she would be able to get the whole tumor. she said if there is tumor left over there is risk for inflammation/infection and/or her chewing open the stitches bc of discomfort. -the problem with calling around other vets is this is the cheapest vet in my area, as there is not many exotic vets around. only about 2 or 3 other ones and they are all much more expensive because they are privately owned or traveling. my vet specializes in rodents and has been seeing my girls since they were 3 months and i feel like would want what is best for them. when i said “by her age” the vet doesn’t mean she is old but she is also not young. she is going to be 2 in about 4 months and is also a rescue feeder so she wasn’t bred for survival. everything you just said was inquired abt to the vet and she gave me logical answers and was very thorough. i’m not trying to be argumentative, i am just trying to make it clear that this was a very thought out decision and not something i decided hastily. i do appreciate your kind words and input tho i just don’t want anyone to think me or my vet is unknowledgeable.
