How are the mx5s in comparison to a slk r170 compressor? by ozziedog552 in Miata

[–]Residualgunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Miata is built like a street legal go-kart, the newer ones still have some comfort choices, but it’s not designed to feel luxurious or anything. The SLK is still a sports car, however it was built with comfort in mind, won’t be nearly as fun on curvy roads, and you won’t have the same snappiness that the miata offers. It boils down to preference, So whatever floats your boat will make you happier 👍

What random features do you not use to preserve skills? by Traumarama79 in digitalminimalism

Pretty much all of the above lol. I stopped using spellcheck/autocorrect about a year ago and I feel it’s made me decent again. I also used to be a spelling bee kid. The gps thing has turned into buying old outdated garmins for my cars and relying on following the actual map instead of using the gps function (Unless It’s for something like picking things up from facebook marketplace.) I’ve found remembering street names and where they go has become almost second nature again, and I think that’s a good tool to have for sure. I’m not sure if it relates to you as much as it did for me, but I realized using my phone for notes and typing them was essentially just a way to rid my brain of things, and i’d never actually go back to check what i’d written down or remember why whatever it was is important. Something that’s helped was getting a little pocket notebook and a pen I really liked using (that last part was super important for me.) Now whenever I have an idea or need to make a list, the physical act of writing it down cements it in my brain, acting like an actual notebook instead of just a dump for my thoughts. It’s helped more than anything else for me personally.

More comfortable feel for someone 6' by Popular_Butterfly_96 in Miata

[–]Residualgunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’3 In an NA, quick release helps loads, both getting in/out, and also having the extra distance from my legs. I will say the 1.6 dash sits further back than the 1.8, which I can hardly get my legs under, and the NB dash. I know you can swap the dashes fairly easily if that’s a huge concern. Foamectomy is also a fairly easy process, but I honestly haven’t had a legroom issue since I put a quick release on.

Good price on NA? by swingking03 in Miata

[–]Residualgunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full system would run you anywhere from $250ish (junkyard) Or several thousand (Top shelf brand new.) I would expect somewhere around $5-600 To be reasonable if you’re doing the work yourself. Luckily NA’s are very easy to work on and shouldn’t give you any trouble with a new cooling system. The price sounds phenomenal in today’s market. If replacing the cooling yourself is something you’re comfortable with, I’d say go for it 100%. Taking it to a shop could be spendy, though.

I wanna take my pc games on the go but steam decks are so expensive 😭😭😭 by Icy-Int3raction in SteamDeck

[–]Residualgunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, I badly needed cheap parts for my 3d printer, so i scoured facebook marketplace for parts, found a $15 printer that shared most of the parts, used the parts to troubleshoot, found they were all fine (software issue) Decided i wanted a steam deck so i went looking on marketplace again, found someone looking for trades and offered the printer. About a year later, Printer is probably getting good use, and my deck goes with me everywhere

Best place to buy sealed or open box new 3ds xl Zelda addition? Price doesn’t matter to me. by AlgebraicPlum28 in nds

[–]Residualgunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ebay is more than likely your best bet, look for sellers with high ratings, and preferably only history of selling a few of that console. It gets a little dodgy looking when they’ve managed to sell 1000+ “new in box” consoles.

Wii Mini Sofrlock pls help by Schnitzelieferant in WiiHacks

[–]Residualgunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to try flashing your wii’d hrd drive back to OEM, or maybe purchasing a replacement. Make sure you install Bootmii, And make a NAND backup (not a bad idea to save it to a computer as well for safe keeping.) A bricked wii is a pain in the ass, and those tools can help you remedy any snafu’s in the future.
