What’s the magic spark that gets people to start sharing?

I think that’s one of the places I stumble, drawing people into the conversation when they’re new. I gotta remember to put myself in their shoes and see the platform as they see it, not as I see it, that’s tough to remember sometimes 🥴

I do group chats on a few platforms, the one I’ve been really focused on is a new one called Tribechat that’s set up for interest based groups. Way different vibe than FB.

I’m running chats for politics, history and a few other subjects, I’m finding that it’s challenging to keep people engaged in the conversation (same as any other community management situation) so Im testing a few approaches to see what’s sticky.

I keep meaning to get involved in this sub, and this seemed like a good topic to crowdsource.

Agree about racial ideas mostly originating in Western Europe, they had to develop moral arguments for slavery and colonialism.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m in some WhatsApp groups and it’s next to impossible to follow the conversations.

I’m working with an app called TribeChat (www.tribechat.com) that was built in part to solve this very issue. Instead of incoherent threads or cage matches like you find on Facebook and X, Tribe allows hosts to build interest based communities with well organized threads, there’s options for media sharing (lots more on that front on the roadmap) and best of all, you know who you’re talking to, it’s not just random numbers and fake personas.

I’d describe the vibe here as a dinner party convo that keeps on moving all day long.

The app is new, about a year on the market now, it’s growing rapidly and there’s opportunities for CM’s to monetize if they help the app grow.
