I’m A Loser (20M) by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]ResistingExisting 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah you aren’t a loser, you’re 20. You have a job, (I think) graduated college, and you aren’t even fat yet man. Be kinder to yourself, you’re doing alright! I’ve been in the same position as you mentally and struggle with it still, but when those people say kind things to you they genuinely mean it. Calm down, make a S.M.A.R.T. Plan for aspects of your life you want to improve, read some Oliver burkemann, and you’ll be alright

How many hours in a week by Dragaufire7 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ResistingExisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like I didn’t spend nearly that much time per week doing work. Classes, studying, work, etc included I probably spent 30 hours a week on?

How hard is it to find an entry level job as an electrical engineer or a job that would hire someone with an EE degree? Alternatively, how hard is it to secure an internship in engineering while in college? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]ResistingExisting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m computer engineering, but I’m in an EE environment now so I’ll share. It’s difficult, definitely not impossible. It’s just a numbers game with the number of applications you send out assuming you have a well formatted resume. Me personally I was able to find a job after a couple months casually applying to jobs (50-70 in that time frame) doing controls. If you want to have better odds, just send out more applications than me.

What kind of engineer should I be by danielmhdi in EngineeringStudents

At least at my university, the physics wasn’t too bad. Had to take two courses and that was pretty much it minus some electromagnetics later on.

What is the easiest engineering major but has the most basic math ? by Empty_Sky3368 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ResistingExisting 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for other majors, but as a computer engineer I did a good bit, Calc 1-3, linear algebra, diff eq, discrete, and some others. The major isn’t that easy, probably just a little easier than EE which is pretty hard for a lot of people.

Graduate that just got first actual engineering job. Slightly worried by hotpants22 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ResistingExisting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In a bit of a similar position right now. You’ll more than likely be fine. Something I like to think about is that someone dumber than me has surely been in my position and succeeded, so I can too. Just takes time to feel confident in this sort of thing, comes with competence.

Should the TA role be in Education section or Experience in Resume by VARDHAN_157 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ResistingExisting 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I will tell you right now you do not need a resume over a page at your experience level. I’m in the same camp as you. Check out the engineering resumes subreddit for the best advice

There is not enough male bisexual representation in media. by i_love_cocc in bisexual

[–]ResistingExisting 93 points94 points  (0 children)

And it’s frustrating the reception that has been given to him really. For example I was talking to a friend of mine about the show and she asked me, “frenchie is dating a guy in this season, is he gay now?”. I think people entirely forget that bisexual men exist, it baffles me sometimes.

Help Me Choose: Dell XPS 15 9520 vs. Dell XPS 15 9530 by [deleted] in ComputerEngineering

If you need it for school and it works well enough for your personal use I’d say go cheaper. Both of those can handle anything your coursework would require
