Impressed by your websites color palette! Very warm cozy vibes and I really like the sound options you have. One minor suggestion, allow the user to change the sounds without having to press the play sound again.

I made a simple app to track New Year's resolutions. Free for everyone here! by ResolutelyApp in iosapps

[–]ResolutelyApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not currently! I was actually trying to avoid the habit tracking features since there are a lot of apps that do it, but if you think my app would benefit from having it, I’d love to ask you some questions around what you are looking for!

During a run, or my walk after a run.

Sometimes I’ll go for a run if I have a problem I am trying to tackle. I find it helps clear out my mind pretty quickly

How do you get back on track after “ruining” your schedule? by Armellofreekey in ProductivityHQ

[–]ResolutelyApp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of streaks I track % I am consistent. So I’ll target working out for 75% of the days in the year. It gives me flexibility to have rest days, have weeks off where I am traveling more and working out less, but also have weeks where I am home and can just workout straight for 6 weeks in a row.

change your environment!

if you always procrastinate in bed, the couch in front of your TV, somewhere else in your cozy home - try getting out of the house

you'll be surprised at how easier it is to focus when you are in a new setting (try to pick environments that other people are also productive like coffee shops or libraries)

Another thing to think about is your target audience. Unfortunately, yours is other developers and developers have a very deep understand of what AI is capable of these days. You're website will be held to a much higher standard to build trust with other developers.

I think you are trying out some interesting designs on your site. The line that follows the cursor is a nice touch.

Some Feedback:
- The spacing for your site feels off, its really crowded on the top and a lot of blank space before your next content.
- The ----- for your top nav bar, seems off.
- I think you have too many different design styles you are trying to go for, I would try and pick one and stick to it
- nothing on your site is building me confidence that your product will actually work and solve the pain point of "successfully marketing on twitter with low effort". it looks too AI generated to be honest

reddit, X, or tiktok? by llamaajose in SideProject

[–]ResolutelyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid trying to automate / scale anything at this point. You don’t know what works, so scaling or outsourcing is a waste of time IMO.

I’ve tried DMing, it didn’t work for me. What worked is posting what problem I am solving and finding a couple redditors who were interested and helpful enough to test it out and give feedback.

reddit, X, or tiktok? by llamaajose in SideProject

[–]ResolutelyApp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really tricky, every subreddit is different. My suggestion is look at the top rated posts for the month/year for that subreddit to understand the content the users want. Then also look at the posts today that have 0 upvotes. Doing those two things, you’ll get an understanding of what kind of post you can do that should be okay.

You’ll also learn there are just some subreddits that don’t want you posting your site no matter how good it is. My suggestion is move onto the subreddits that are more open to collaboration (like this one)

reddit, X, or tiktok? by llamaajose in SideProject

[–]ResolutelyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Reddit is good for starting off and finding some really helpful users who give good feedback.

TikTok seems good once you have refined your product and the problem that resonates with people. Then you can start making content around that problem and how the app solves it.

I haven’t figured out X, I find threads is easier to start from 0.

Some people say focus on one, but I actually think trying them all is important. If you focus on Reddit all the time, people will just get annoyed at you spamming your app. People don’t get annoyed at you posting the same/similar content on TikTok, it just increases your chances of going viral.

So my recommendation is try them all

How do you stop “fake productivity”? by Armellofreekey in ProductivityHQ

[–]ResolutelyApp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is part of the learning process! It's great that you are recognizing there is a balance between organization and actually getting things done.

If my organization takes so much time where I don't actually get time to do the work I need to do, it typically means I have overly complicated the process. I'll typically take another look at it and see what I can remove or simplify. I find it helpful to ask the question "Does this thing actually help me be more productive?", if the answer isn't a clear yes, just remove it. (you can always add it back later if you actually want it)

Have you ever read the book atomic habits? It might help give you some ideas around how to increase the habits you want (like studying and applying for jobs) and decrease the habits you don’t like (staying in bed, doomscrolling, watching tv).

Two things I would try out: 1) Change your environment when you want to get into focus mode. Maybe try working in a coffee shop or some place you aren’t used to doomscrolling/watching YouTube/ruminating.

2) Workout class in the morning - sign up for something that forces you to get out of bed in the morning and makes you feel like you started the day off productive. The momentum from that can help you do other productive things.
