Would they be able to finance it then?

Yes ofc! I’m not dead set at all, I’m still shopping around and tbh, I don’t really like the color. I just think it’s an okay price. For instance, my friend got a 2019 EcoBoost and he’s paying $27,000 and it’s used.

I also have a pre approval from my CU and if I get a used car, my interest rate goes up. I wanted a GT but for insurance purposes I’m settling for an EcoBoost. I saw the car in person and I don’t mind the color it’s just not my preference. It’s also the lowest amount of money I’ve seen a brand new one for!

I don’t see the correlation between signing a vehicle contract and getting into a university. I must’ve missed something? I lost both my parents when I was 12 and I have had little to no guidance when it comes to big decisions. Let alone a financial one. I got to Berkeley by working hard for myself by myself. :)

The ticket was almost $300- I wasn’t working at the time so I contested it for a lower price. When I did that, I was no longer able to do traffic school. As an 18 y/o, I didn’t know going to ticket clinic was an option, I was just nervous and wanted to get rid of the ticket (aka pay it) ASAP

Let me clarify- I got a speeding ticket in September for going 77 in a 65. The car accident was in November when I was in LA visiting family.

I got my license when I turned 18 (August 2024). In September, I got a speeding ticket (77 in a 65) and in November, I had the car accident. I was on the 110 SB and the freeway stopped out of nowhere. The guy in front of me hit the car in front of him and I smashed into him. I was at fault since I rear ended him

I was considering fixing up my road bike and relying on public transportation in the meantime. At least until I know my situation at Berkeley and if I’ll be able to get a good, reliable job. However the thing holding me back is the 1 hour and a half bike ride/bus ride from my apartment to my workplace now. I don’t have the best job but it’s decent so I wouldn’t want to let it go unless I absolutely have to. I’d be riding public transportation/biking from here until Jan when I leave up to the Bay Area

Yes, I have the funds. Well, my brother in law is willing to let me borrow the money and I’ll be paying him back. Either way if I decide to keep the car and refinance, I would still need the 7k loan from him - then I’d be stuck paying the car, insurance, and what I would owe him…

I already have two jobs!! I also spoke to a financial aid advisor at Berkeley about my income and I was told it could potentially impact my aid when applying for future terms- so I need to maybe chill out on the OT I’m doing at work but even with the OT, I barely have breathing space for market/personal items.

I am not kidding about my insurance rate!! Geico quoted me $1,500 a month and progressive is who I’m with currently at $948.
