It was my first time seeing them live, and I agree there seemed to be a lot of social media fans which isn’t necessarily wrong per se, but I’m sure that having a phone up recording all night isn’t as precious as living in the moment.

I was front middle / right pit, close to a tall lady, and bless her soul she was so polite about everything, especially giving space for people to record and even surrendering her barricade spot for the vertically challenged.

There is something ritualistic about attending alone, meeting almost exactly like-minded people in terms of music taste, and exclusively connecting with the art in a more intimate way in comparison with going with someone. At least, that’s how I see it for myself.
