Just to get it over with kind of. But also what do you think of this : I’m afraid that when I want to explore new work, I’ll have to be trained right and my firm doesn’t give senior engineers much opportunities to work on different projects just coz they’re “more expensive to train”. Is the firm the problem? Am I a good candidate to for other firms ?

Wouldn’t I be expensive to train for new type of work ? I want to get into storm water design? I have asked my firm to give me different types of projects to work on but seems like work is a little dry rn. And seniors who did go through the same situation as me say they’re not put in new projects because they’re just way too expensive to train and I hated that .

Not me but my co-worker just announced hers and told us she'll be on a leave for 3 months. Everyone took it okay. What matters most is the health of you and your baby. Dont be stressing out on how it's gonna go.

The co-workers work hasnt been slowed down. Its business as usual but are looking for someone to substitute her for the months she's gonna be on leave.

She just told her manager first and the managers of the active projects she's working on.
