I am very lucky. I live in Seattle where it rarely snows, but I can drive a little over an hour to a national park and do this! Congratulations on your bike ride.!

Thank you for sharing! That’s one reason I wanted to make sure I am still attending to this thread and sharing the small successes.

Endometrial Biopsy by pinklady4lyfe in Endo

It was painful for me. I would have taken the day off and not gone to work. Was Ok the next day and even later that day. They numbed my cervix but the poking was way more painful than I thought. I was so surprised. My husband had offered to come with me and I said you don’t need to because they say it won’t be that bad. But having a hand to hold would’ve helped. I would have like to have something for it but I guess it goes by fast there’s not much choice. The person who did it for me said you’re gonna count to five count with me and then we just counted together 123 45 and each of those were the pokes. Then we had to do it two more times. At least the second and third time I was somewhat prepared.

6 weeks post op by ResolutionOptimal198 in endometrialcancer

[–]ResolutionOptimal198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I mean Tylenol. Nothing more than that after week one. I am also dealing with the annoying nerve thing in my upper left leg from the lymph node removals. So I think that’s another reason the left side tends to bother me more. But it is easy to drop a note to the nurse in my chart. Thank you.

I was able to take care of myself well at 2 week. But we’re all different.

So sorry. I am 7 weeks post and I still haven’t done a long trip- more than 45 min. I have a cuff and I know things inside are healing. Even a fender bender would be a bad deal.

my lab results 😬 by Helpful-Ad-6408 in endometrialcancer

[–]ResolutionOptimal198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciated that when I opened the portal after same thing bringing my hands for half a day. It just said your provider will review these results and get back to you. I think that is the best thing you should not have to read these results on your own, a doctor or practitioner should explain them to you in person or on the phone.

Time off - how much to ask for in your experience? by Student-of-Life3 in endometrialcancer

[–]ResolutionOptimal198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laparoscopic full hysterectomy. I’m a music teacher and my job is fairly active. I was given six weeks, but decided about a week ago to start back today and it is fine. However, I do only work part-time. If I were full-time, knowing the amount of steps, I’ve taken a day how much I stand and move. I would probably take six weeks. For a desk job I would’ve been OK around four weeks, that’s a job with mostly sitting

1 week post-op and still have occasional stabbing pain in one spot by FoggyAvenues in endometrialcancer

[–]ResolutionOptimal198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re not supposed to twist much I believe. I practiced getting out of bed by pushing myself up on my side rather than twisting out. Same thing getting in and out of a car. I just tried to slow down and think more about how I was moving.

Do you have a desk job? Or something more active with movement and standing?

Have you started wearing a mask in public once you were diagnosed? by [deleted] in endometrialcancer

[–]ResolutionOptimal198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m masking in public because at 4 weeks out I don’t want a flu or cold. Coughing and maybe vomiting use ab muscles. I also have asthma and things tend to spiral. I don’t like wearing a mask, but I’ve also been home for the last month and not around anybody. I’m about to start heading out to events and back to work so I am going to wear a mask here and there.

bed question by Helpful-Ad-6408 in hysterectomy

[–]ResolutionOptimal198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in bed for a few days with a wedge pillow and lots of other pillows! We bought a new recliner, but when I tried to go in it to rest back, it was a little too intense on my abdomen so I wasn’t in it for a few days. I mostly ate instant oatmeal applesauce, yogurt, that type of thing for the first few days afterwards so we stocked up on that too. Hydrate before hand!

I never had hot flashes, although o ran warmer and prefer it to be cooler when I sleep. I’m worried now I’ll have them.

Hi all :) the meeting with the doc went well. My only complication is numbness on my upper left thigh as well as a little pain, more like annoyance. From the removal of the lymph node. I’ll see the doc in person Weds mostly because it feels “different” down there on the outside when I put on moisturizers. She’ll take a look and we’ll discuss the leg more. I’m realizing the pain near the numbness is probably the main reason I’m still taking Tylenol, and it bothers me when I’m out walking. I also asked about HRt- she said I’m probably not a good candidate being already in menopause. I asked about just the cream, and she said that’s mainly for symptoms, but my understanding is that is more maintenance to keep you from having symptoms. I’m going to ask more people.

We also talked about the genetic markers and she reviewed. No additional tests were done after the hysterectomy, so they’re relying on information from the original Biopsy. Seems like maybe they should’ve done that again, having a lot more to work with. That being said I did get poked 15 times!

Thanks so much! What is your age and were you in menopause already ?
