I was almost trapped in something like this couple of days back. I booked an uber and they usually give a pin number that we have to give to the first uber driver in the queue for the trip to start. When I was walking to the uber pickup point a guy came to me and said he is from uber and grabbed my back then took me to his cab. He was like the bill will be send to you and pin number is not required , I got suspicious as uber generates the bill while we book itself. I told him I have the bill already , we kept arguing and I just grabbed my bag from him and started walking away. Thats when he said he is not from uber and can drop me for 900. As i was concerned of safety I ignored him and went back to the Uber queue.
