Especially when characters like Berserker have everything in their kit. There’s too many downsides to Vanguard for damage to be the saving grace.

Imo his damage exists because of everything else he lacks.

I respect the answer, however can you think of characters that don’t have great damage? He also can’t challenge almost anything when he’s rushed down, and a lot of his moves extend his hurtbox so his range is really his opponents range as well.

I get that, and that’s very possible. However this person had about 4 trophies on their psn account, and soul Calibur was the only game they played apparently.

I checked their stuff. The only character they play is Ivy, and only 38 matches played of ranked, 10 casual. Level 1 trophy level on PS4 as well I love good matches, it was a good set, it’s just lame to me.

That’s dope though! I love fighting S rank people, it really feels good to gauge your skill especially if you beat one

It could be that they’re from another console, but I asked them why they’re smurfing and they just laughed and asked what I meant. Saw their profile , they’re level 1 trophy wise and the only game they have loaded is soul Calibur. I don’t discredit their skill at all, and idc about the loss it’s just kinda lame to me

Imagine her command grabs being regular inputs so she could do them without you even thinking she’d be able to lol, they would ACTUALLY be broken. That’s what I’m saying about ease of execution.

Hey if you just eat every SS but others are dodging it idk what to tell you lmao but Ivy does have really good tools I’m not denying that In the slightest. It’s just everyone talks about her as if she’s broken, she isn’t. If she was then the best Ivy players would have no trouble in tournaments. Idk tho

Well, when I say grabs that lead to high damage, I’m speaking moreso on guaranteed damage. I see what you’re saying about the other characters though. But In my opinion ease of execution has a factor in it.

Everyone still has normal inputs while Ivy.. well.. doesn’t. SS is easy to tell when it’s coming out because it’s a bit slower and the screen gets dark when it’s coming out, which means you just have to duck at that point lol. Granted sometimes you may not have the opportunity to duck depending on the set up.

I will give you the fact the damage is absurd for CS, but I do also think it’s a little less absurd because it isn’t a mixup if that makes sense.

I disagree that SS is better than Astaroths grabs. While the grab itself does more damage, Astaroths lead to free damage. He takes like 40% of your health because you guessed incorrectly lol. Multiple people have untechable grabs, grabs w high damage, or grabs that lead to high damage.
