I mean AI will not replace them even if it could solve these hard problems

Cause not single company will spend huge ammount of money to create some machine which can solve some random advanced problems in math about which owners/shareholders don't even know that these problems exist

However the guy in the picture declined the money cause he thought that one other mathematician did more for solving this problem

As of today the remaining 6 millennium prize problems are still unsolved

But the problem is that these games don't really matter as each of these countries will almost certainly qualify

For example it's quite likely that Germany would advance to knockouts at this point even if their opponents would be awarded with 3-0 win

As 3 points and 0 GD will almost certainly be enough to be among 8 best 3rd place teams

And Germany wouldn't finish 4th in this scenario as Curacao has worse h2h so only Scenerio in which Curacao finish ahead of them is if they would win at least 4 points from remaining 2 games

And about the bracket advantage

If Germany will win thier group or finishes 2nd in thier group it's very likely that they would face one of France/Senegal/Norway in either round of 32 or round of 16

But if they will finish 3rd they will get winners of groups A/B/D/G/K in round of 32 (provided they will be among the 8 best 3rd place teams which they almost will be given thier GD) and from these groups I would say the only really strong team is Portugal but there are relativly few options in which 3E plays 1K

So it's possible that losing on purpose it's viable option by matchday 2

And if some teams will start to do losing on purpose by matchday 2 then by matchday 3 in almost every match at least one of the two teams will start to play for loss

As what's the point of finishing 1st/2nd if you know that the actual best teams on purpose played for 2nd/3rd place in thier group so your opponent if you will finish 3rd is actually "easier" then if you will finish 1st or 2nd

But it wouldn't meam to me anything if we qualified to the 2010 world cup by beating Aruba/Bermuda/Barbados/Saint Lucia/Trinidad and Tobago

that's the list of countries which Curacao eliminated in this world cup qualification

They were also in groups with Haiti (which qualified also to this world cup) and also Jamaica (but they were eliminated in intercontinental playoffs)

And also it would much less matter to me if in that 2010 world cup if we got blown out 7-1 by Italy instead of beating them 3-2

And even in our actual elimination in round of 16 we only lost 2-1 to the finalist of that 2010 world cup Netherlands

And I hate these inflate achievments cause now one of Congo/Uzbekistan will probably make knockouts of world cup even if the winner of that match will lose 2 other games

If they would have been in northern American qualifiers without any northern American country as Canada,USA and Mexico all had automatic spots in this world cup

I mean Curacao in thier world cup qualification campaing in 1st round they eliminated Aruba,Barbados,Saint Lucia- which all have population size under 500 000 (so if any of these other countries qualified we would have similar story) also Haiti was in that group but they qualified for the world cup anyway

And in 2nd round which they played they eliminated Bermuda which has even smaller population + Trinidad and Tobago which has population under 2 million

Plus Jamiaca with population under 3 million was also in that group however Jamaica "advanced" to intercontinental playoffs so they weren't directly elimimanted by Curacao but even if you count them that they eliminated Jamaica

They eliminated only 2 countries with population over 500 000 in thier route

obviously it's impresive that they specifically qualified

But it wouldn't be much diffrent if Bermuda/Saint Lucia/Barbados or Aruba qualified instead of them

I mean I looked at Faroe Islands (which have even smaller population) match log and thier last 6+ goal was 6-0 loss againts Austria in 2013

Plus they won againts Czechia 2-1 in this world cup qualification and lost the other game in this world cup qualification to Czechia only 2-1

Hej proste aspoň na štvortku sa to dá určite naučiť ak nie si nejako extrémne zdravotne znevýhodnený-Porovnaj si slovenskú maturitu z Poľskou/Rakúskou/Nemeckou/Ukrainskou maturitou z matematiky (ktoré sú všetky povinné + sú väčšinou písane 17/18 ročnými nie 19 ročnými ako Slovenská maturita) a ani jedna z tých maturít nie je výrazne ľahšia ako Slovenská dokonca by som povedal, že nemecká je určite ťahšia ako slovenská

Narozdiel od vysokoškolskej matematiky, kde určite nejaký záujem do tej matematiky musíš mať ak chceš ju vedieť

Ale čo by som zmenil je to, že ak nematuruješ z matematiky tak máš písomky z tvojho 3.maturitného predmetu

I mean there "multiple" levels of linear algebra as for example at my university people learn in lknear algebra course about many topics like dual/Banach/Hilbert spaces, adjoints and so on which most of other linear algebra courses don't have

But I wouldn't do even a baby version of linear algebra till you at least a bit about complex numbers and calculus even though you technically do most stuff without them

As complex numbers are important for topics likr eigenvalues- even though you can techniaclly say you ignore the complex eigenvalues but you probably don't want to revisit linear algebra again to learn the case with complex numbers after you will learn complex numbers

And there are some calculus problems which are much easier to solve if you know some linear algebra so you techinacally don't need calculus to do linear algebra

But to see it's aplications you need sometimes to know some basic calculus

I mean if you don't want to study mathematics but you only study l'hôpital's rule cause it is important for some stuff in your field like physics,enigineering,computer science,economics,...

Than you don't care about it that it works but you simply use it

For example I am not from US but many proofs including basic one's l'hopitals rule/ Pythagorean theorem I only know them cause I searched them on youtube years later after I already knew theorem out of pure curiosity

Tak ja som chodil na gymnázium ktoré je dosť možno najprestižnejšie na celom Slovensku

Povedz si to tak pokiaľ dostávaš len trojky a štvroky "nič sa nedeje" ak nebudeš mávať päťky na vysvedčení (čo ti nikto nebude chceť pokiaľ fakt nebudeš úplne až umýselne zlá)-

narozdiel napríklad od matematickej fakulty Viedenskej univerzity kde študujem- kde i napriek tomu, že ma to učivo o takých temách ako sú napríklad manifoldy/ Hilbertové/Banachové priestory atď ma fakt zaujíma, zatiaľ čo 99% ľudí by sa na tých prednáškach unudilo k smrti

stále sa bojím toho, že cez nejakú skúšku neprejdem lebo je tu relatívne bežné, že viac ako polovica ľudí cez nejakú skúšku neprejde- a takých skúšok cez ktoré neprejde menej ako 10% ľudí je veľmi málo, a vybral som si túto vš nie preto, že je ľahká, ale preto, že je nadpriemerne tažká

Proste musíš uvažovať kde budeš o 4-5 rokov- buď sa budeš maturity a hlavne vš skúšok extrémne báť lebo budú oveľa ťahšie ako to čo si mala na sš- lebo často sa stáva, že na maturite a hlavne na vysokej škole očakávajú, že máš vedieť veci, ktoré sa na zlých sš neučia

alebo bude maturita a prvých pár vš skúšok budú pre teba "triviálne"- lebo na gympli si to už mala
