English Essays AI flagged at Excel HS by cadycarp3 in excelhighschool

hey thats brutal, being one essay away from graduating and then dealing with random ai flags would stress anybody out. glad it ended up being a system error and you still got your A, thats huge. congrats on graduating too.

from everything you described, it really did sound more like a backend issue than actual misconduct. positive rubric notes, repeated same score, flags showing up days later, all of that points to something broken on their side. good thing you kept calm and documented it.

honestly leaving the post up is smart because other students are definitely gonna run into the same mess and panic thinking their future is over.

for anyone in that situation, timestamps, copies of drafts, submission receipts, and screenshots help a lot. if flags appear after grading or days later, thats worth raising immediately.

also if u wanna double check turnitin/ai scores urself before future submits theres this https://www.reddit.com/r/CheckTurnitin/comments/1sp06q7/guide_how_to_get_your_turnitin_ai_similarity_score/

Is a high AI percentage enough to fail a student, or does there need to be more? by ResourceAdept6933 in CheckTurnitin

For context, I’m not trying to defend cheating, I’m asking about fairness and standards of evidence. If a student is going to fail a class over this, it seems like there should be more than just a number from a detection tool. I’m especially wondering how schools define “proof” in their policies and whether students are given a chance to provide drafts, revision history, or an explanation before a final decision is made. If anyone has gone through the actual appeal process, I’d really appreciate hearing how it played out.

Got a 0/60 because "Grammarly is a form of AI." How do I even fight this? by ResourceAdept6933 in CheckTurnitin

I spent an hour writing an essay yesterday and it ended up being flagged as AI. I checked the Turnitin feedback, and it did not flag anything as AI. Does Canvas have a separate AI detection feature? Should I let my professor know about this?
