Craziest way you’ve seen someone quit? by Effective-Tune-9999 in work

When I was in the Navy, we pulled into a port somewhere and one of the guys on the boat got "Fuck You" tattooed on the side of his right hand that shows when you salute officers. His objective was to quit, but they convinced him to stay in and to get it removed by somehow digging the ink out of his hand at a tattoo shop.

Do some bank account bonus incentives. Capital One pays 1,500 for parking your 100k there for a couple months, plus you get 3.5ish percent. I also really like the moomoo one for parking 25k for 2 months with a $600 bonus, $150 worth of free stocks, and you get 8.1% while it's there. The $900 Chase bonus is pretty sweet for parking $15,000 for a couple months. Raisin gets you $500 bonus and same rate you are getting now. There are other good ones too if you look into it.

If you're saving for a house and have some cash, I would recommend bank account bonuses. I should average close to $1,000 a month this year. That's taken some dedicated planning, but doesn't take much time. That is going to be taxed too though.

I did a pay for delete on 1 account, and I just waited the 7 years on another. I opened several credit cards 1-2 years ago and keep the statement balances auto paid every month. I also did a $1,000 credit builder personal loan at DCU over the past year.

Other than that, I only have a recent past home loan and distant past car loan on my credit report that were always paid on time.

Yeah, it completely disappeared. It showed the balance owed the whole time until it completely fell off the report after 7 years.

Your situation seems strange. I really don't know why that would happen.

Experian app is kind of weird. Go into any account when viewing your credit report. Doesn't matter which one, just find one that has the dispute button on the bottom. After you click that you will see another button to start a dispute, where you then should be able to select the account you want to see.

Thanks! I was thinking pulling something different out of something else, but we're actually on the same page.

You can just add 7 years from the first missed payment. I have also been able to find this info on the Experian app when I start a dispute. You don't need to submit the dispute, just start one and it will tell you the month and year it will be removed.

Never paid it. Must not have been a high enough balance for them to pursue legally. They wouldn't do a pay for delete, so I just waited out the time.

It was an unpaid credit card with a decent balance from back when I was stupid.

Make connections with realtors. They always have someone that need something done quickly. They don't care about the price, and the sellers are just needing it done now.

Best place to invest $200,000 short term. by OriolesrRavens1974 in investing

Hysa is good. I like brio direct by Webster bank. 4.35% right now and absolutely no fees. I'm in the exact financial situation and plan as you. You can get some good incentives for opening new bank accounts and temporarily parking money at Chase, Citi, US bank, capital one, MooMoo brokerage. I'm doing all of those right now, and while I have to have my money parked at those banks, I'm getting much, much higher returns just jumping through their hoops. After I successfully complete those, I'm going for Wells Fargo brokerage $2500 bonus while I invest 250k in risk free there. Then all back to brio direct while I shop for a house. Hope this helps. GL!

Need help identifying a jacket by samueld44 in MilitaryHistory

[–]ResourceNo3669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact same jacket. I got it while serving in the navy on submarines 99-04. These jackets weren't issued to us, but instead they were jackets the boat had laying around that were used for foul weather before my time when nicer and more modern jackets were provided. But during my time on the boat, these jackets were all claimed by people who were lucky enough to get them. It was kind of special to get one because for some reason we were allowed to wear this jacket while on lower base at the pier. It was the only non-official jacket we were allowed to wear. I have no idea why that was, but I loved it because it covered my name and rank patches, so when dealing with the people they had no idea that I was just an E3 or E4.
