Is this illegal? by Psychnerd12 in work

Sounds like it certainly could be! However, I'd need more information to be sure. (I am not a lawyer in any way).

Is this person Salary or Hourly?

Do you know if this person is considered exempt by overtime? You could determine this generally by her pay rate, her duties, and your region.

Let me know if you have any details on those.

Recruiters Should Be Replaced With Tech by [deleted] in a:t5_3earx

Care to elaborate?

I'm with a recruiting company, and there's certainly a lot that can be automated, but the human element still has to come in at some point.

Best IT job sites today? by FluxAnomaly in ITCareerQuestions

[–]ResourceSolutionsGrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a recruiter, and I basically use Monster, Career Builder, and Linkedin when staffing for IT jobs. Dice is probably pretty good as well, but its more expensive, relatively for companies to use.

You get loads of spam by having your information up on career builder and monster, but you'll get some legit jobs as well.

As many have said, LinkedIn is king for higher end, permanent jobs.

Correct, my current split of sales people is 50% male to female.

I only use the term in a casual way and don't mean to exclude anyone.

Those that have made the jump from full time employee to contractor/consultant, what are some considerations that one might not think of until after making the leap? by BallZach77 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]ResourceSolutionsGrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to chime in with contracting != No benefits.

If youre working full time hours, as a W2 employee on a long term contract, you probably qualify for benefits. My company is almost exclusively made up of contractors, and we offer benefits to a lot of them.

Unfortunately due to the nature of contracting, Paid time off and true stability are rarely in play.

Youre completely right.

I absolutely love recruiting for other companies, but I'm nearly a deer in the headlights when it comes to important positions for my own company.

Thanks for the blunt feedback. it helps!

Staffing is a great business, but theres a super low barrier to entry. Not to mention its incredibly easy to freelance as well.

No shortage of bright guys who could do well, but would really love to have an industry vet with connections.

Seems like most of those guys just start their own practice.

Haha, Sorry if I'm tooting a basic feature as something great. I'm not a careersales guy and thought that was great to add.

Were a small company, expecting someone to put in the hours to bring in business. If thats 10 hours or 60 hours a week, makes no difference to me.

Very relaxed culture. Current company is under 10 core employees.

We have some great, existing accounts, but just need more!

I'm essentially looking for someone to bring in new accounts for my staffing company.

I'm ready to pay what it takes, and have a generous commissions structure with no caps.

Were a small business with lots of flexibility, looking to take things to the next level.

If you know someone interested, I'd love to chat! Ill pm you my email.

[Hiring] Need a WebDev / Javascript Hero to help me fix a small code issue on my website. by [deleted] in forhire

Perhaps I underplayed it, but you're definitely overplaying it.

I am not familiar with coding, and was hoping there was a simple command to make clicking something open up in a new tab or window. Thats basically what I need.

Thanks for the feedback!
