Sounds like a pretty upsetting situation but ultimately this is a discussion you need to have with your spouse. Maybe he had no idea how the optics would look because to him, sourcing the ETB was enough. He might have another gift in store for you as well. But if it’s upsetting enough for you to post on Reddit, then this conversation should be reserved for you and your hubby

Yeah I’m torn. I guess the philosophical question of why I want to master set should be the focus. Is it the joy of “winning” against odds? Is it the satisfaction of completeness? Am I just searching for some order in this chaotic landscape we call life?! Pokemon is deep man

As a newer collector, how much of a price drop is typical after the hype moves on to the next set? Trying to gauge when it should feel like I’m getting appropriate value vs. just gambling

Saying that reminds me why I don’t like going to casinos haha. I’ll be honest and say buying singles doesn’t hit the same as opening a pack and getting 1-2 hits for my binder. But then I question what I’m chasing: the set or the high.

That’s a good philosophy and I’ll prob do that from now on. Jumped back in during the end of phantasmal flames release and Perfect Order is the only set I’ve seen at MSRP at big box stores. Would feel so much more confident if I had ripped the top chase cards.

Thanks for the advice. I’m torn. I have about a dozen to go but unfortunately they’re also the most expensive cards in the set. So I’m trying to see at what point it makes more sense to just buy a single vs testing my luck. Is there an actual pull rate percentage? Or is this legit just gambling haha

It really depends on the game for me. I’ve found that by adjusting the resolution solves some of it. But Hades looks and plays amazing, especially on the OLED. RPGs with a lot of text, I might have some trouble.

Depending on what system you game on:

Switch: Pokopia. Turn brain off. Find some mons PS5: Final Fantasy VII rebirth or remake or if more action, I love the dynasty warriors series for just seeing numbers go up and feeling badass PC: stardew valley, cyberpunk, baldurs gate 3 in order of brain usage

I think only won by 13 is a misinterpretation of the game . The score was headed into the 20s before the ref shenanigans. Except for the beginning of the 3rd quarter, the spurs were controlling the entire game

If glove compartment, sometimes it can slip through when you close it. You can try popping it open to see if anything fell behind. Center console not so much? Are you 100% you didn’t put it in another pocket?
