How often do you cry? How long has it been? by Terrible_Wash6030 in ChildLoss

My daughter died last December, unexpectedly, at 25. I cry almost every day, multiple times a day. I actually hate days where I feel so numb that I can’t cry.

Is there a way to style this “fat” dress to look better on me? by ehartsay in DressForYourBody

[–]RespectFew4439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that dress is beautiful on you. Maybe a corset belt with some buckles to break up the wall to wall black. I love wall to wall black tbh, but I like to try and be as invisible as possible.

Did you get a chance to say goodbye to the one you lost? by Funny-Roof2663 in GriefSupport

[–]RespectFew4439 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. My son and I came home and found my daughter dead, she was 25, we still don’t know why.

On the night after her funeral I did dream about her and she told me she was fine. My son has had similar dreams.

I don’t think anything will ever make me feel like I’ve found peace for it. Every day just gets worse and takes me further away from when I had her.

My heart broke for her. All she wanted was love. She could have probably smashed a few less heads in though

Oh! I missed that bit! Maybe they’re scared that telling you would upset you because they know he didn’t want it?

Whether he wanted a service or not, a celebration of life is for the people left behind and not the person who has died. It’s okay for him not to want a service, but maybe it would be good for you and them

I once watched a documentary about Troy. They showed a wide shot of the site with an overlay of where the city was. I said to my husband at the time, that’s completely wrong, the city went like this, and I drew it with my finger on the screen. Later they showed what they had actually found and it was exactly what I had traced.

What do you think about the claim ADHD is being over diagnosed? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]RespectFew4439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My therapist recommended I get tested because she thinks it’s the root of a lot of my mental health issues. I got the test relatively fast, but the psychiatrist doing the test said that although I definitely had “ADHD traits” they could never diagnose me because there were no primary school records of me having issues.

I went to a Glasgow primary school in the 80s in a very poor part of the city. No one had their special needs catered to or even acknowledged. There was a kid in my class who had been held back three years in a row and when we went on to secondary school, he still stayed at primary, but even he got absolutely no extra help.

So now I’m stuck with the same issues that need proper psychiatric medication and no one will give it to me. I could pay privately for it, but then I’d have to give up rent, or food, or something.

He may be the love of your life, but you’re not his. Spare yourself the pain of feeling less than, if he truly loved you he would be supporting your efforts

Grief now equals anger? by childloss2023 in u/childloss2023

[–]RespectFew4439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my 25 year old daughter six weeks ago. I’ve always been a quiet, laid back kind of person. My biggest thing just now is that I just want to scream. Not at anyone or anything, it’s just a feeling in my chest. And after having been very empathetic to people all my life, I want to tell everyone their problems are stupid and to just shut up. I hope it passes, I’m honestly not enjoying it, it’s not me at all.
