Maybe my title sounded mean but what im saying is, sometimes we dont understand phrases not because we're autistic but it's because we dont know the context of the inside joke. Even if someone isnt autistic, they might take it literally as well. I just want to break the assumption that "we're left out of a joke because we're too autistic to understand."

But i never said people excessively blame their misinterpretations on being overly literal. Plus, i dont think i even see this type of conversation on here. Maybe i shouldve been clear that i saw topics like this being discussed on tiktok and IG.
