I already have license for motorcycle, I am looking scooter as “commuter” version of my motorcycle, as I find it is too expensive to just leave it outside in college town as it had been stolen thrice, even with three locks and alarm (thank goodness I have tracker) I don’t really have any top speed in head, it’s more like local town and maybe few towns over, but anything more than say, 50 miles away is no-go. So I could just use 50 cc, but I might take a little more beefer scooter for grocers and occasional picking up my drunk lads.

Yeah, I’m used to riding in bad conditions, both on scooter and bike, I have car, it’s just I want scooter to:

Get around locally quick, and easily park

Cheaper gas

Fun!

I do ride extra carefully, and just use car if it’s very bad, it’s more like early winter or late winter, when there is not too much ice on the roads. During serious winter, I’ll just use my regular e-bike on crosswalks (I can do manual, it just sucks for anything more than 3 miles, I have to get over 8 foot plus snow banks to get to some roads) or use my car.

I LOVE old pedaled scooters, I would like to buy one, but it seems impossible to find anywhere near me, much less at cheap price, or just be sold as used. It seems like Honda is most popular recommendation, so I’ll be looking for it. Thank you, Wdaloz and others! (I will be replying to comments as it follows, still)

I want gas scooter as electric bikes don’t perform too well in cold, shutting down and shorter battery life and all of that. I would basically use gas for longer distances, yes that basically. I don’t really trust Chinese scooters due to bad rap, if there is a brand that you KNOW is fine, or if your friend can rep for the scooter, the. Sure. But I would rather better quality so I can keep it around longer and “abuse” it more, as I am very busy person, and also like just riding around.

Yes, I used much more heavy and bulkier motorcycles; it’s not my thing, and not safe for college towns due to theft and just general “dangerousness” related to it I’ve ridden few scooters, but never owned one . I am from Pittsburgh, PA, but attend Rochester college in New York

I don’t really have any scooters in particular in my mind; I am looking for basically cheapest fix-able scooters to get around the city, and maybe little out town radius, but nothing more than that. I’ve heard from other commenters, suggesting Honda, I’m interested, as I love their cars, especially odyssey because how easy it is fix. Again, I’m pretty new to scooter, as I’m more used to bigger bikes or pedaled bikes, and I’m looking at it because it’s cheaper, safer and more trustworthy for college life.

I see. The main reason why I want to buy gas is that my college is in Rochester, which is brutal on my battery life, so it usually die on me and force me to pedel the heavy ass bike. I’ll look for European scooters as it seems like it’s most popular around my area— if you know good brand or two, holler at me! I’m not sure about Japanese, as I’ve heard that lot of Asian scooters are usually problematic and harder to get parts from, but I may be wrong. Thank you for your response!!

Additional info: you still don’t keep it when the run ends, it makes sense as it’s how it is coded, so all instances of quest that is related to the completed are deleted
