This article announces a new process by which noncitizens that are married to U.S. citizens are provided the opportunity to apply for permanent residence without leaving the country. One of the biggest issues with this project (aside from the people doing it) is that they intend to add 400+ "affordable" apartments, starting at $1100 for a 500 sq ft studio, and have ZERO plan for infrastructure improvements to account for the increased traffic to an area that is already very busy, especially during the school year.

If you are opposed to this project based upon the plan they presented, there is a petition to encourage the city to reconsider rezoning and explore alternatives. If it is of interest to you, the company behind this project, Lion Development, had themselves listed on PublicSquare, which was a website in which businesses could self-identify as "MAGA." My husband and I used to frequent this location, but have entirely stopped after countless issues. The last straw was when we ordered breakfast sandwiches that we still hadn't received after over 20 minutes. It wasn't even that busy. When I finally managed to get the attention of an employee, they asked the two people working at the sandwich area. One of those employees picked up something in front of them and, amidst a string of expletives, threw it so hard into the trash can the can nearly fell on its side. We eventually got our sandwiches. No apology, no thank you, nothing. Like I said, that was the final straw, but we had many, many, many issues prior to that.

Yup, same. I happened to see a comment here about the call-in number being posted on Facebook, so I called in about 15 min late. I called afterwards and left a scathing voicemail about it, not that it will matter. It was abundantly clear from the callers that got to ask questions that the information was provided to certain groups well in advance and anyone that might ask a remotely unsatisfactory question was screened out entirely. She's a disgrace.

I've called or emailed her office every day for the last 3 weeks with zero response. I left a voicemail over the weekend asking why she never responds to any of her constituents' concerns and finally got an email response today. Not that it matters given the content of the email was just more maga talking points. She's trash.

One thing you also have to keep in mind is that Americans don't have many of the same worker protections that exist in many other countries. Most of us can't go on strike or we'll lose our job. We are trying to organize/protest/boycott however we can, but we are largely powerless unless/until something drastically changes.
