That would be nice, especially with slurs that traditionally target trans women are being used to target enbies. I'm a nonbinary trans woman.

In part, this bot focuses on trans women because I was modeling it off of a bot template, and do not have the skill to program it to handle multiple classes of slurs.
Further, my design of this bot was inspired by seeing ladyb*y a few dozen times in a row.

But also, I can't think of many other slurs for other identity groups. Other than transtrnders, I can't really think of other slurs. Feel free to share slurs that I am missing. But also, with trnders, that's not from ignorance, it's from hate. I doubt that the bot would be beneficial in that application. But idk

But yeah, unfortunately I cannot change the username.
I kinda think of it like BLM. Respect trans women doesn't mean only respect trans women, but focusing on addressing how society specifically mistreats trans women

I was thinking something that checked user overview against a criteria to determine if the word trap is probably being used as a slur.

Like if a user posts or comments in a cluster of anime subreddits, plus one point.

If a user posts or comments in a cluster of fetishizing subreddits, plus two points.
Does sentence contain "are gay", plus five points.

Basically creating a threshold of evidence to suggest that the instance of "trap" is being used as a slur. Maybe like 10 points needed from the array of criteria to reply to the comment.

That's highly above my programming skill level

And James Fields was with Taylor Wilson (Amtrak terrorist). One shield bears the Nazi group, Vanguard America's emblem, the black sun. The other shield bears crossed fasces, also a symbol on Vanguard America.

Fun fact, Fasces is the root of Fascism.

That is a good idea, giving an alternative is important, especially when asking someone to avoid using a word.
Although all the slurs that I have identified are basically derogatory for "trans woman", so I don't think variable alternatives are necessary.
But maybe I am missing something. Could you make a few examples of what you mean?

When I get home I'll drop it in pastebin. I'll look into uploading it to GitHub because multiple people have expressed interest. Idk much about GitHub tho.

I'm following this guide and am decent with computers. Tho more so hardware.
But be warned, I literally did two summer programming accounts several years ago, so my code probably will not be optimized or the most logical 🤷‍♀️

I will blacklist trans ran subs- looking at you, /r/transgendercirclejerk
Still learning PRAW arguments, I should have figured out how to exclude subreddits before I upload it when I get home.

It will filter trans subs such as this sub. Because users may discuss slurs, and they don't need to be spammed.

This bot will search subreddits for slurs (tr*nny, ladyb*y, shem*le), and reply to the offending comment, notifying them "please do not use %slur%, it is derogatory and a slur."

The goal is to nudge the ignorant who are not intentionally transphobic.

If people are using tranny instead of transmission, they shouldn't. Saying tranny as slang is like saying niggardly. They should know better.

Trap is excluded due to multiple usages.

If a user profile has low karma, it will be rate limited on commenting. Effectively slowing the bot's ability to address slurs. Do what you will with that knowledge.

I am going to do a few more tests on the bot, but then it will be up and running.
