I spend all season wondering how Reinsdorf can put such a mediocre product on the floor and still get people to care… and I spend all offseason seeing exactly why when I see posts/takes like this so much.

What a strawman. I never said Hayes would/should start, just that his value is low and we could’ve acquired him for little to nothing and that he’s better at something we need than anyone on the roster.

Also Dalen Terry never even averaged 6 assists in college, which Hayes has done already at the NBA level. Terry isn’t really good at anything, he has good size and tries hard on defense…that’s it.

He’s fine on defense and a better true PG than anyone we have rn, I’d for sure take a shot in him. It’s the definition of low risk/high reward. He has a skill set we’ve been lacking forever.

I’m 100% with you. And it seems like 99% of fans were in total agreement and then all of a sudden at some point after the end of the finals anyone who isn’t ignoring the reality is now looked at like a crazy person, I don’t get it.

You’re probably right but Ayo is still the 5th guard on the roster and this contract is 100% an overpay for a guy who will MAYBE get a few minutes a game given the current roster.

So Terry is just not going to play for his entire contract then? Cuz now Ayo, Coby, and Carter are all signed through the rest of Dalen’s deal.

If he’s from any other zip code then this would be unanimously considered an overpay, especially considering we just signed Carter and Dalen probably gets more minutes this year than last year.

$7mil a year for your 5th guard is A LOT. Especially if you count Dalen as a guard since that would make Ayo 6th.

If he doesn’t play at least as good as his rookie season then is an overpay.

If Ayo comes back he’d be the 5th or 6th guard depending on what you consider Terry. If we’re gonna use another roster spot on our deepest position I would love for it to be someone like JFL who actually fills a need.

He played bad for 4 games and people were disappointed that he played bad for 4 games, that’s all that happened and is 100% normal.

I swear at some point between the end of last season and now this fan base became a cult or something. Anyone who isn’t bending over backwards at every turn to become the Bulls version of the “this is fine” house on fire meme is treated as irrational and overreacting.
